The Bugs in a Box series is great--my kids have enjoyed them for years and now my two-year-old loves them. However, I have found his more recent ventures to lack the quality and spark of his original works: Bugs In Boxes, More Bugs In Boxes, How Many Bugs in a Box, etc. While I would still recommend this book, David A. Carter's original pop-ups were more complex, more clever and more sturdy. If you haven't purchased any, I would start with the aforementioned books first.

I love this book - I've ordered several as gifts. I was a little disapointed in the last two I ordered - pieces were missing and/or parts not working. Happily, Amazon was quick to exchange them at no extra cost to me. I love all of David Carter's pop-up books and have ordered many of them!

A very cute book full of fun & surprises. Not for the very young because it has lots of little pieces but the pop-ups are very cool. My favorites were the wearable birthday hat & the pop-up birthday cake with candles to place in it. Lots of fun stuff.

Our two year old Grandson loves this book having recently celebrated a birthday. He has many books and considers any of the "bug book" series among his favorites. As a young toddler, he is naturally curious about what makes bugs "tick" and anxiously explores the creatures of the great outdoors.

This book is very cute and was enjoyed by my grandchildren. Not your average pop-up book, this book has lots of detail. Fragile for the young child, so enjoy the book WITH your child. Planning on buying more of these delightful David Carter books

I bought this book for my six-year-old granddaughter. I was delighted with the quality of its construction and darling hands-on design. I have decided to start a pop-up book collection for her because this book is so engaging and memorable.

My husband came home last Christmas with "Winter Bugs" for our then 2mo son. We were like, what the heck is a winter bug? But the book was really cute and our son seemed to enjoy us reading it to him. I was surfing Amazon recently and stumbled across some other bug pop-up books by David Carter. Easter is coming up so I bought "Easter Bugs" for his basket. I also bought "Bedtime Bugs" because it looked cute. Lastly, my son is an October baby, so I bought "Halloween Bugs" and "Birthday Bugs." We're going to have a house full of bugs! Each book is adorable. I'm a little concerned about the delicacy of the designs, since they are so intricate, but I'm hoping we can teach him to be careful as we read them together. Recommended for your home library.

My 3yo son likes the bug books because they are silly. This is not one of Carter's best popups but my son likes the removable party hat (I don't consider it wearable) and the removable birthday candles for the birthday cake.

Pros:
1. 3yo son thinks it is fun. He chooses to look at it by himself sometimes.

Cons:
1. Easily torn or bent the wrong way. My son yanked the glued on candle out of the birthday cake immediately but is old enough not to tear it. Keep away from younger children.
2. Not much educational value.

3/5 stars because although it is silly entertainment for my son, there are other pop up books that are more creative, educational, and just as entertaining. See other titles by David Cart or search for Jack Tickle (a.k.a. Jane Chapman).
