The Bugs in a Box series is great--my kids have enjoyed them for years and now my two-year-old loves them. However, I have found his more recent ventures to lack the quality and spark of his original works: Bugs In Boxes, More Bugs In Boxes, How Many Bugs in a Box, etc. While I would still recommend this book, David A. Carter's original pop-ups were more complex, more clever and more sturdy. If you haven't purchased any, I would start with the aforementioned books first.

I love this book - I've ordered several as gifts. I was a little disapointed in the last two I ordered - pieces were missing and/or parts not working. Happily, Amazon was quick to exchange them at no extra cost to me. I love all of David Carter's pop-up books and have ordered many of them!

A very cute book full of fun & surprises. Not for the very young because it has lots of little pieces but the pop-ups are very cool. My favorites were the wearable birthday hat & the pop-up birthday cake with candles to place in it. Lots of fun stuff.

Our two year old Grandson loves this book having recently celebrated a birthday. He has many books and considers any of the "bug book" series among his favorites.As a young toddler, he is naturally curious about what makes bugs "tick" and anxiously explores the creatures of the great outdoors.

I bought this book for my six-year-old granddaughter. I was delighted with the quality of its construction and darling hands-on design. I have decided to start a pop-up book collection for her because this book is so engaging and memorable.

We love this author and all the bug books. This is not one of his best in my opinion but it would certainly make a nice birthday read for a child 3 and up. There are lots of fun things to do inside: unwrap a gift, decorate a birthday cake, add candles to a cake.

My soon-to-be four-year-old granddaughter loved the book. Each page is colorful and creative. She especially liked being able to put four candles on her birthday cake at the end of the book. Each of the "bug" books is awesome and fun to read.

This book is adorable! My daughter received it for her 1st birthday. I promptly bought 2 for gifts- both were sealed in plastic wrap, however 1 was missing the birthday hat that comes in the front of the book (one of the cutest parts of the book)- the other was perfectly fine.

I've purchased this book many times to give as gifts. I like these type of interactive books. Very creative.

my 4 1/2 yr old son and 16 month old daughter loves all the pop up books by David Carter. I love the different style and types of pop up items in this book. it's too bad my daughter has broken/ ripped a couple of the items in the book already.
