They’ve birthed a grimy hardcore giant and hailed a more metal-centric destroyer, but in 2010, Cancer Bats are dropping their heaviest, deadliest, and most brutal offering to date with Bears, Mayors, Scraps & Bones.

Its title derived from the nicknames of each of the four Bats – drummer Mike Peters, guitarist Scott Middleton, vocalist Liam Cormier, and bassist Jaye ... Read more in Amazon's Cancer Bats Store

Editorial Reviews

For a band known largely for their stage presence, it's crucial that their album embodies that aspect of their craft. From the first seconds of Birthing the Giant's opener, "Golden Tanks," it's clear that such a problem isn't going to arise. Every note and lyric is performed with the desperation that at any second their gear might be unplugged and taken away, and things hardly let down through the album's 11 tracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars This rocks - nuff said !! July 19, 2007

Format:Audio CD
Buy this album !! Anybody who likes their punk rock fast , dirty and a bit heavier than the usual should find this album now . This comes on like Helmet if they'd listened to The Misfits instead of John Coltrane , and the guitarist is definitely the star of the show , peeling off killer riff after riff , song after song ! The rest of the band are no slouches either , and in a (un)pleasant change from the "we can play more complicated than you guys can" bands that are about , these guys just want to rock out !!!!! Can't really pick out a particular favourite cos every song is a winner .

Do yourself a favour and get this now !!!!!!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good album April 11, 2013

I first heard Cancer Bats on a compilation album I got that had Dead Wrong and wanted to hear more so I was able to pick this album up for a few bucks off of ebay. I am not disappointed at all. It isn't the greatest thing you will hear but to me, it is a very solid album. The songs are fairly short compared to some of the other stuff I listen to but they are all good. I would say they kind of sound like Vision of Disorder to me. They sound like they had fun making the album. The songs are fast and hard and make you want to bang your freakin' head. I will be getting their other albums very soon and you should do the same.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lyrics, vocals? No. September 6, 2007

Format:Audio CD
I saw these guys live on tour with Rise Against and either they have the worst sound guy ever or their lead singer cannot articulate worth a damn. I couldn't understand 90% of the the vocals because the lead singer was too throaty with his vocals to discern any words over the screaming guitars. Some of the beats to songs are nice but the lack of understandable lyrics made me dislike their effort.

Note to the band, fire your sound guy and put someone in there that can put more decibels for the lead vocal mic.
