I am connected to this work in may ways and it is near and dear to my heart. I had the opportunity and gift to go through this course with Baraka Elihu and 7 other women last year. Currently, I am facilitating another group of women through this journey of Birthing Ourselves into Being with this book as our guide. If you are seeking guidance to lovingly walk you through a period of growth and transformation, this is your key. This book offers the full range, from heartfelt inspiration to practical steps and exercises to support your journey. The wisdom offered here will push your edges and smooth them at the same time. This is one of those books that you will cherish and return to again and again. You don't need to be in a group to receive the full scope of treasures from this work, Baraka's voice comes through the text loud and clear. I whole-heartedly recommend this book to any woman who is answering the call and ready to take her life to the next level.

This book was an Amazon pick of the day in my in box one day, and living in Athens,GA, I saw it was a local author so I said "that's cool a local author I think I'll support her". Little did I know what a life changing event this book would play in my life! Baraha Elihu, takes the entire life span of being a woman, and teaches each of us how to use this as a road map for birthing anything into reality! I am witness to the depth and magnitude of taking her blueprint in BOiB and making MAGIC in my own life!!! With gratitude... Sherri Fuller

Birthing Ourselves into Being reads like a love letter between best friends. The author pours out her heart, her inspirations, her questions, and invites you to do the same: Sit down with a cup of tea and your journal next to a sunny window, and let your dreams unwind themselves on the page in front of you. Before you realize it, you've created a beautiful map for your grandest work of all: Being yourself, and compassionately so. I'm on my third trip around the sun with this text -- once as a participant in a BOiB Women's Circle with seven dear women, a second time guiding a circle of women through the text, and now a third time with a co-facilitator to share in the magic. I had a year off in there, and even then, I found that I returned to the book again and again for inspiration and guidance for self-care and deeper experience of the Divine Feminine. The book and the work it maps out has been so meaningful and pragmatic that my husband has even begun to comment that he'd like to have a Circle too! I highly recommend this book for your work with personal growth, dream weaving, and lasting transformation. The circle expands, and it never ends...

I believe this text would resonate with every woman who opened the pages and began to fall into the metaphor and application of birthing herself into being. This is a wonderful approach to listening to our hearts and allowing what needs to be to come forth through love, compassion, and gratitude sprout and blossom.

These words offer up a taste of what I love about this curriculum, "We want to craft sustainable and lasting change... one can enact revolution in the simple feat of slowing down and making a deep commitment to just being oneself--birthing yourself into being. Deep change emerges organically and we want to create as much spaciousness around the process as possible." Birthing Ourselves is a practical guide to change with a gentle approach through the process of pre-conception through postpartum. It is a text by a woman who understands the heart and the nature of women through scholarship as well as through a woman-centered psychotherapy practice.

I have made this text a part of my New Year's ritual. I return to this book and pour through it to find nourishment for my life's work. I use this guide and its discussion questions as writing prompts and even as questions to interject into my own work with women as a Transformational Life Coach.

I can't recommend this book enough for any woman in any walk of life. If you are open to meeting your Higher Self, you have found a text to guide you to her--to you.

Birthing Ourselves Into Being has been an honest, treasured guidebook. Facilitating my transition into the woman I am and will become. Circling with others and one self seems so important to me and the value is endless. Baraka writes honestly, without judgment, with grace and just like in a way where her compassion and openness simply holds space for you. I will cherish mine, read it, re-read it, share it with my daughters and recommend it to anyone who may wonder what changed things for me in my life. It has inspired my mother to heal as well... I could not be happier that I've found it and this book is proof that I am exactly where I'm supposed to be.

This is a great guide to making changes in life. The author's writing is very beautiful. almost poetic. I love the use of such powerful female images and ideas. A good reminder of the power of women and what we can "birth" in the world and in our lives.
