Love the show, love the ability to purchase and stream the seasons you have. When can we expect the rest of the series available for purchase so we can stream it? Netflix just cut their streaming options for this show to Seasons 1-8. I've bought Seasons 16-19 here and would LOVE to at least have the opportunity to do the same for the rest ... what's our ETA?

Dennis Farina isn't one of the best detectives on this long series (20 years), but his role in Season 16 is very powerful, as he goes over the line time and again. In one episode, he does the equivalent of waterboarding by dunking a suspect's head into a toilet to find a kidnapped girl. However, his relationship with Jesse Martin doesn't come up to much. The earliest detective pairs, like Chris Noth and George Dzundza, were much better. Sam Waterston, as a hard-charging A.D.A., puts in a good show, especially in morally ambiguous episodes, such as one in which a mother kills her son. There's no question that the death of her son was a good thing for the city at large, but he proves there was a baser factor at play to get a conviction. Fred Thompson plays the D.A. and I just don't like him, neither his character nor his acting. But, as always, the casting is very well done and the writing is tight, with surprise twists. Some endings leave the viewer frustrated, which is what the actual legal system often does. Special effects are almost non-existent, and people who dote on high tech shows like CSI may feel deprived, but these are terrific programs with a social conscience.

It is, in my opinion, the best directed, realistic, drama tv show. Being HD is a big +. Amazon has a large collection neatly organized, and a very user-friendly process..very secure as well.
5-15-2013 Rumbero is happy.

I love the topic. This was a great Law and Order. Linda Carter hasn't aged a bit. I'm glad I purchased this episode.

I love the show, and how it depicts what can happen if the prosecutor is dead set on sending someone to prison, whether or not the crime was a justified homicide. One episode recently showed a woman who killed her son because he was so mentally ill and violent that she knew he would kill someone if she didn't stop him. The wheels of justice were not weighed in her favor and the jury sent her to jail. Why? Because the prosecutor showed that she did it, not only to save humanity, but to save her marriage to the young man's stepfather and their two children. So, because there was a "selfish" reason, she lost the sympathy of the jurors. I wonder whether the verdict would have been the same if the Lanza kid from Sandy Hook had been shot by his mother before he killed all the childrent at that school. Probably so.

Loved seeing the older ones again, still the best series ever on TV. Still hoping for a closing season with Jack as the prosecutor. Just a 10 episode series would be a sensation by bringing back some of the best characters from the wonderful run of great actors they have to choose from. Someone would make a ton of money if this were done right! It should go out with a bang no a wimper, what a disservice.

This series shows imagination in the types of cases it comes up with. I've seen lower ratings posted for the later episodes of the series, but I think the whole series was consistently good from beginning to end, personally. I think you should wait a little longer to ask for a rating of an entire season after its purchase, because no one is going to watch the entire season in 3 days.

Sometimes the story lines of Law and Order becomes too familiar and boring but in Season 16 the series has recharged itself. Dennis Farina is a welcome addition to the Law and Order regulars. Unfortunately I haven't seen season 15 yet when he first started.
