Meet the baby,
By
This review is from: Biscuit and the Baby (My First I Can Read) (Paperback)
There is a new baby in the house and Biscuit wants to meet it. But babies need a lot of attention and that means the baby is not always available to be met. But eventually Biscuit gets his chance.
Told in the same style as most of the other Biscuit books, this one has more of the repetition of the original than many of the others. The art is completely adorable as always and fans of these books will not be disappointed.

My daughter is three and a new baby was entering the family so I ordered this book. She loves all of the biscuit books and really liked this one too. Now when we visit her cousin I can remind her about being quiet around sleeping babies and being gentle.

Adorable, fun and close to reality!,

This is perfect for early readers and/or those kids who love puppies and babies. It is a simple, sweet story about biscuit's fascination with the new baby in the house. What I love most of all is the portrayal of the mother. She looks happy yet exhausted, like most moms of newborns. She is not trying to appear all put together. Plus, she's in her bathrobe for the entire story! My young girls (7, 5, 3) all loved this book and wanted to read it repeatedly.

My 5 year old grandaughter and I love reading the Biscuit books. The best part is she is learning to read and can read this on to me with very little help. Second best is she is getting a new brother or sister soon so it was very relative to her life right now. There is nothing like teaching a child a love for reading.

I got this for my little niece. It was one of her favorite books as a little girl. Now that's older, she still enjoys the Biscuit books but does take the time to enjoy other story books too.

Biscuit books are good - as early readers,

These books are very short, very repetitive, very predictable, very simple.
Great early readers. They could also be great for toddlers and babies, who use that repetition to learn to speak, but they're written so simply that you'll be bored to tears after reading the book more than three times. And you can read these books several times in one sitting, they're that short. Give them to your kid when they start reading and insist that THEY read the books - not you. Do not fall into the trap of reading them. Ever. If your kid is like the ones I know, they'll fall in love and you'll be trapped. Incidentally, in this book, the endpapers show a baby bottle. No baby feeding is shown in the book itself, but if you're an avid lactivist, you may want to check the book out before buying it. |
