Product Description
Darrin Bainbridge is your typical playboy in need of love, but not yet ready. He is a freelance journalist trying to break his big story. After a visit from his mother, Darrin gets an idea. He has heard all kinds of stories about "Hollywood" ministers who hold their church services on television, live in nice houses, drive nice cars, and have lots of money and women. Darrin is disgusted by it all especially when his mother Priscilla starts shouting praises for Atlanta Bishop Kumal Prentiss. Darrin decides to go to Atlanta, become a member of the bishop's church, and expose him for the hustling fraud that he believes he is. He just never planned on falling in love with the Bishop's daughter.

Darrin suddenly finds himself torn between his new found friend and his possible big break.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing perspective, December 20, 2008
By Stacey (Las Vegas, NV USA) - See all my reviews
)"The Bishop's Daughter" by Tiffany L. Warren is written from a refreshing male perspective! Darren is a self-serving playboy who wants to expose a well-known preacher as a charlatan to get ahead in his career as a journalist. This is a terrific novel with great conflict between the characters and within Darren. The writing is quite sensory! Miss Warren makes you feel, taste and smell the story. I was educated in some new terminology, too. This was an overall enjoyable read with a spiritual message.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Bishop's Daughter is a very good read, January 13, 2009
The Bishop's Daughter is a story about Darrin Bainbridge, a writer (and a player) trying to find his big break and break away from Mommy and Daddy's purse strings by finding corruption in the church. He is sure that he'll have no trouble uncovering a big story and his father agrees and funds the trip for him. Darrin's intended target is the Bishop but he winds up falling for the Bishop's daughter Emoni.

Will he use the information he uncovers about the Bishop and risk his new found friendship and love with Emoni?

Emoni is a woman who feels she will never find her love and considers settling for a man that is nice but she really doesn't have those type of feelings for. She considers herself to be unattractive compared to her siblings but she knows she is smart and has some other fine attributes.

The story is told from the perspective of both Darrin and Emoni which I found to be an intersting way to tell this tale. You get to delve into the minds of both the male and femal perspective. Usually you only get to hear the woman's side of the story and it is refreshing to hear the inner thoughts and feelings from the man's side. Especially from a man who considers himeself to be quite wonderful and to hear his thoughts about women in general. It was interesting to hear this truth in a book.

I highly recommend this entertaining love story written by this talented author!

4.0 out of 5 stars Touch Not My Anointed, January 2, 2009
Darrin Bainbridge, an inspiring young journalist is making a name for himself on the internet blogging under the moniker of "Diary of a Mad Black Blogger." One Sunday morning when his unofficial girlfriend gets up from his bed to have church via the televisioin with a mega church preacher, Bishop Kumal Prentiss, Darrin gets the idea to do an expose on the Bishop. This begins an adventurous detour in Darrin's life as he moves from Cleveland to Atlanta and becomes a member of the Freedom of Life church, in Tiffany Warren's newest novel, The Bishop's Daughter.

Bishop Prentiss is nothing like Darrin expected, then again neither is the church service and the not so pretty girl with the butt that catches his eye on his first visit. Biship Prentiss' method of speaking God's word draws Darrin in and he soon finds himself a member and involved in the church's singles ministry, and with that comes the drama only single church women on the prowl can bring. Still, Darrin is determined to write the story of his career, but he is finding it difficult because the Bishop does not have any skeletons to speak of, or does he?

Ms Warren pens a quick, fun read in this offering. She does a good job in switching from the male to the female voice. Darrin is funny. He is not quite the player he thinks he is and at times is conflicted. Emoni is flawed but is strong in her convictions. Her actions demonstrate how young and naïve she really is. Together they make for some interesting situations. There are also good secondary characters such as Dorcas, Oscar and Emoni's siblings. This is a strong effort by Ms Warren. I would recommend it to those who enjoy Christian fiction, however, if you are one of the chaste Christian fiction readers this might not be the one for you. Remember, sanctification is a process and everybody's just not there yet.
