I am not sure what is going on with the other reviewers here and their Sweep-Ups. I just bought this at a local hardware store, mine is blue, not expecting anything fabulous, but lo-and-behold, I was amazed at how much pet hair, crumbs, even a small pile of fine dirt, that it picked-up. No, this is not a vaccum, nor did I expect it to be, but for quick in-between vaccuming jobs, this works quite well for me. I also love the fact that there is no electricity or batteries required. We have a dog and a cat that both shed a lot, and this is a big help to keep the hair under control.

I have 2 toddlers and 1 baby, so you can imagine the crumb mess they can create during the day, this thing is easy to push and picks the mess up. I don't care if it picks up dirt to the point of leaving the floor shiny, that's what my broom/vaccum are for. i purchased this item to help me pick up random cherio spills, hairballs, dustbunnies, glitter spills (and similar messes) and does the job wonderfully

Only good thing is it's light weight as I am in a wheelchair. I was attracted to it by the price. Well, you get what you pay for. It doesn't pick up things. I am using it for small scraps and threads and the usual fuzzies and dust on a carpet. It's AWFUL. Wish I would have returned it. It makes my work harder. So, be aware......before you buy.

I just got this item, but have used it already and can't begin to express how pleased I am. First, the shipping was so fast I was amazed. Second, here's the important stuff!- I was given a lovely plush carpet with a deep blue background, shows EVERYTHING! The woman who gave it to me is super clean and I am embarrassed by how this rug always looks grungy- I have a cat with super fine fur, and just couldn't get it off the rug, even with my nice Oreck electric broom- doesn't help that the rug is laid over a Berber carpet, so there are a few lumpy places that the Oreck just won't address. This little ol' sweeper is getting everything on one pass, even on the bumpy parts, the rug is getting as clean as when it was put down. Third, I have leg and arm issues, need something light- this is the one! And in my crowded little living room I am able to maneuver around and under furniture very well. The handle seems sturdy enough for what it is, it is metal, and the cleaner box itself seems to be constructed well. I like the little brush comb and the fact that it clips to the handle. This will be easy to store. I am really pleased with the brushes, they have some length to the bristles, unlike the Swivel Sweeper and I think that makes a big difference (tho that Swivel Sweeper is a real gem on linoleum, tile and no-pile carpets!). Haven't tried it on my small spaces of linoleum, but that wasn't what I bought it for, so not too concerned. The price is fantastic- I went to ebay first, and would have paid 2-3 times this price. I say total thumbs up on this one.

This little sweeper does exactly what I was looking for! I use it on white tile, laminate, carpet, and throw rugs.

On laminate, it requires a tad more downward force to prevent the wheels from sliding. This is easily accomplished by placing index finger on pole (while the remainder of the hand is on the handle). This slight pressure is sufficient to achieve the desired result.

On tile, it does not pull items from grout (vacuum required). Otherwise, it works as planned.

On carpet, works well.

On throw rugs in bathroom, it is absolutely super! It actually lifts the nap on the rug as well as cleaning.

This product is not a vacuum cleaner replacement...no sweepers are! It does not clean well along baseboard (neither does my vacuum w/o a crevice tool). But it is a sturdy device that is easy to clean and does a more than adequate job for quick pickups, which is what I bought it for.

I would definitely recommend this product.

I bought this for 15.00 at a linen store for my kids to use to sweep kitchen hardwood floor after dinner. It lasted one week. The handles come unscrewed and some dirt just gets pushed around (1/4"hard food crumbs or flat crumbs) - it seems to get hair/lint/dust okay if you clean brushes after each use. I don't want to do that as it is for my children's chores. Then after one week - it started making a clunking noise and the roller brush falls partway off when opening dust chamber to empty. I will return this and get a more expensive but worth it Oreck brush sweeper. (I have an older model oreck brush sweeper I use on the back screen porch - it even picks up pollen)

Since I'm not physically able to use a regular vacuum, the Bissell serves to pick up the every day little things that get on the floor. I have a cleaning lady once a month for the deep cleaning, but this enables me to have a decent looking carpet in between her visits. It's light enough to not give me pain.

This is a neat and good product in my opinion and for the price it can't be beat. In between regular heavy floor cleaning it really helps picking up what's tracked in by pets and kids. I love it!

I have a four month old daughter, and finding time to vaccuum (it scares her if she's awake, and wakes her if she's sleeping) is practically non-existant. I originally bought the the new Swiffer Carpet Flick; it's [..]. This sweeper is perfect for cleaning the rugs in between vaccuuming.

...you really do get what you pay for. I bought this model about 6 months ago for quick clean-ups in the kitchen and under the dining room table. I'd say that it does about a 50/50 job on crumbs, glitter, fur, etc. - no matter the surface. I find that it's just easier for me to grab my regular vacuum to get the job done quickly and well the first time. I hadn't used this item in a few months. Lo and behold, yesterday my daughter's Kindergarten teacher had placed a note on the door requesting a manual sweeper for the classroom. So, today mine found a new home :-) It seems to work pretty well on the industrial-type carpeting there (for picking up small scraps of paper after coloring/cutting/pasting projects). At least it will be used now instead of just taking up space in my house.
