great vacuum,

After I finished vacuuming all 4 of my cars, I vacuumed the garage! This is one convenient and easy to use garage vacuum. I can't believe the suction going through 30 feet of hose would be so strong. Everythign was easy to get set up too, it took about 5 minutes. I sure won't miss dragging the canister around when it's time to do cars (which I do weekly). The attachements will fit just about every need too. All in all, this is one good product!

Good but 1 major design flaw,

Bought my Bissel Garage Pro last December and absolutely loved it UNTIL the first time I had to empty the dry tank. On the positive side, this Vac is quiet (much quieter than a large Shop Vac), powerful (although the hoses and tools small diameter), and hangs on the wall, neatly out of way.
Yesterday, for the first time, my "dry tank full" indicator LED came on so I shut the vac down and removed the tank. Surprise!! the bottom of the unit fills to a level about 7 to 8 inches above the tank seal before the LED comes on, so a gallon or so debris falls back on the floor and the air fills with dust upon removal of the tank. Brilliant guys. It took more time to clean up the resulting mess than it did to actually empty the tank and reassemble the unit. From now on, I plan drop the tank every few days to inspect it for debris level since the full indicator LED is useless. Nice vac functionally but what an absurd design flaw!!

Decided to purchase this over the Hoover GUV even though at the time the Hoover was on sale and almost $100 cheaper. Based on the reviewes the Hoover is a good vacuum, but I can say without a doubt this one is excellent. Quality build, lots of power, and tons of useful attachments that come in very handy.
I'm amazed at the amount of suction power from a 30 foot hose, it's stronger, and *way* more quiet than my trusty Shop Vac on wheels with a 6 foot hose. I've never seen a vacuum cleaner with a muffler and it's great. Not to say it doesn't make noise, it does. But it's a lot quieter than any other garage type vacuum I've ever used. Add to that a very easy to remove bottom canister for cleaning and you've got a great wall mount vacuum cleaner. Looking forward to putting some miles on this one.

This is simply the best vac for your garage. I looked at the Hoover but many reviews said it was fairly noisy. This vac is very quiet. Great attachments, I would like to see a better wet floor tool. But its been keeping our cars & the floor super clean!!

We've only had this vacuum cleaner a few weeks, but so far it has lived up to its claims. Talk about convenience--this is it. The long hose is one of the things that makes this such a convenient cleaner-upper.

Bissell VS Hoover Garage Vacuum,

Like all other purchases I agonized over which product to buy for months. A friend has the Hoover GUV and I liked it enough. My final decision was based on the fact I live in WI. My garage gets snow and ice over the winter. I had concerns the metal Hoover would eventually rust in my garage that remains damp for 5 months of the year.
I also liked the fact that you had the option to wet/dry vac. Even thought I don't plan on cleaning out my fish tank with the thing, I do vacuum wet floor mats and enough damp items that I liked the option being present. I have owned the vac for about 8 months now. Still happy with my decision. THIS IS NOT A HIGH POWERED SHOP VAC. It does great on cleaning out the car and sucking up general dirt in the garage, but... you will not be picking up a pile of leaves with it. It is pleasingly quiet. If I could alter the "muffler" system for more power I would. It does have two screws on the muffler, but removing them does not allow the side discharge to easily be removed, and I don't want to break anything. I don't see why the gov needs to impose sound restrictions for my safety. I vacuum in the driveway, not with my head next to the vacuum... The long hose goes everywhere I want to go. Suction is good, but not a 6HP shop vac with at 4" hose that is only 6 feet long. There is a trade off for space management. In the end, its worth it for me to have this. I don't want to lug my shop vac up from the basement every time I want to clean out the car. I don't want a shop vac waisting space in my garage- so this fits the bill. I would have given it a 5 star review; but can't based on the fact it doesn't suck up leaves that blow into my garage. The quality of construction seems to be good. Cleaning it out and the built in filter was easy enough, though a dirty job. The cloth filter gets pretty messy when you pull it out. Would purchase again. If space is not an issue for you, consider a monster shop vacuum and be ready to pull it all over; If space is a concern and you like a tidy car and just want to pull down a hose and go- this is your vacuum.

Love it, more than a Garage Vacuum, use it all around home.
This Vacuum cleaner has lots of suction and is easy to use. I found that we could dismount it and carry it into the house for vacuuming air vents, getting cobwebs off our high ceiling and even clean our dryer vents. With its 30 foot hose plus extensions you can reach most areas without even using a ladder. I even pulled the hose up into my attic above the garage to vacuum the floor area. I was looking for Garage Vacuum that had a long hose which mounted on the wall to save space. This meets those specs. Hose is very high quality and works great with accessories. Like: Long Hose, quality product, quiet operation, easy to use, accessories, mounting, vacuuming suction, easy to empty and saves space in garage. Doesn't do: Limited blower speed (would not recommend if you're planning to blow tree leaves in yard), not able to pick up leaves in yard due to small hose diameter. I plan to purchase yard blower for this. It's a few dollars more than its competition but well worth it in terms of overall superior performance. You will not be disappointed.

I must echo some of the previous reviews. The Bissell is simply the best in class. The 12 amp motor really provides the extra suction that's needed for a 30 foot hose to be effective. Plus it's also exceptionally quiet as compared to any shop vac I've used. The components appear to be of high quality and the mounting bracket kit is strong and solid. It's a few dollars more than its competition but well worth it in terms of overall superior performance. A buyer will not be disappointed.

My Bissell 18PO Garage Pro WetDry Vacuum Cleaner is outstanding. It all most cleans the garage by itself while I watch. If you want the best go with Bissell and you will never have any problems to look forward to. Marty

My friend bought this vaccuum for his garage with an additional 90' hose exentsion kit (sold separately) and uses it for the entire downstairs of his house including cleaning out his fireplace cinders; no clunky vaccuum to drag around and the noise of the motor stays out in the garage. I was sold on the power of this unit and the versatility that the longer hose kit offers so I bought one for my townhouse. I can clean my car; my garage; the hose stretches to the kitchen and my wash room; and to the sunroom when the dog tracks in mud and debris. This unit is powerful and really has suction power! This was a great purchase and my entire first floor, garage and car stay fresh and clean. I just wish they offered a more aggressive carpet attachment (rotating bristles would be nice.) That way, I could really use it like a "central vac" system in my house. I'd NEVER drag out the vaccuum for the carpet again!
