Thank you, Bissell!,

I used my SpotBot in what must have been the craftroom/kennel/gym of the previous owners. The nasty nylon carpet that came with the house is extremely reluctant to give up stains, but the SpotBot cleaned up oil and crusted-on soda spills easily. It even made significant inroads into smears of oil-based black paint. The ability to switch between automated and manual modes was helpful. On the worst stains, I ran a couple of automated cycles, then switched to manual mode and scrubbed. This is much more effective and powerful than my (good quality) carpet steamer. Yes, it does use a lot of cleaning fluid, and it takes time to address every stain (at least, if your carpet looks like this one). But it is still cheaper and faster than replacing flooring!

The machine works as advertised, giving a wet soapy scrub and automatic vacuuming to spots about 6 inches (15 cm) in diameter. Like most carpet washers, it leaves some water -- expect to wait 24 hours for the spot to dry completely.
If your carpet tends to get small spots on it, this machine is ideal -- place it down, press Start, and walk away for 3 to 6 minutes. The reservoir is small, so you can only clean about 4 spots before emptying the dirty water and refilling the clean soapy water. There is also a handheld attachment for manual cleaning, but it's rather annoying to use because it is extremely narrow. Don't expect to clean anything wider than 3 inches, and expect to scrub a lot.

SpotBot not so Hot,

Stay away from this carpet cleaner. I've had two in two years and both are in the landfill. First one lasted for 5 uses then went dead. To their credit the company did a "cord cut" (you cut the cord and send it to them to prove the machine is junk) and sent me a refurbished machine. Second Machine lasted 3 uses and also went dead. No power to either one. I contacted Bissel who said I was out of luck with warranty and I should take it to a certified repair shop. I did, the repair technician told me SpotBot electronics are junk. He said I could try hitting the machine where the circut board is. So I did. Surpise it started working again! Got one more use out of it before it died for good. Bissel is ok company, this is just a bad design. Go with Green Machine, it's more reliable and less expensive. Besides SpotBot leaves little clean circles in your carpet.

I love it!!,

My sister bought me the SpotBot for Christmas 2007 and I absolutely love it. It doesn't replace a larger carpet cleaner for cleaning your entire carpet but it is perfect if you are house breaking a puppy or have cats who tend to throw up. I wouldn't be without one now that I have one.

Another Waste of Money,
This review is from: Bissell Remanufactured SpotBot Hands-Free Compact Deep Carpet Cleaner, 1200R (Kitchen)
We bought one of these and, like a lot of handy helper gadgets, it seemed pretty neat at first. But it absolutely soaks your carpet (actually not good for the carpet or the pad), pick up most of the stain, and then spreads the remainder around. After a couple of cycles and manually sucking up the excess cleaning solution you end up with a clean carpet. But does that really save that much time and effort? After less than a year of use ours stopped pumping cleaning fluid (went through the troubleshooting, called tech support, etc) and we couldn't get it to work. So now we have an expensive scrub brush. Seems like our full-size Hoover carper cleaner (which didn't cost much more than this Bissell) has held up longer, does a better job and is more reliable. So once again, the handy time-saving helper gadget that you just can't live without is a dud.

Gotta have this!,
This review is from: Bissell Remanufactured SpotBot Hands-Free Compact Deep Carpet Cleaner, 1200R (Kitchen)
Have kids? Have a dog or cat? I have both. You gotta have this. It's the quickest easist way to get spots out quick with NO hassle. I love it. Is it perfect? No, nothing is. But this is an excellent product for what it does. Don't use too much soap though, you don't need alot.

Great product!,

We love our SpotBot! We have a young puppy, and she has a lot of accidents of both #1 and #2 kind. The SpotBot has been a true life saver with the clean-ups. It works best for smallish, fresh stains/spills. It has it's limitations, but is still MUCH better than having to use the full size carpet cleaner several times a day!

I have a 19 year old cat and two 1 year old kittens. Between that and the dark frieze carpets that cover the whole second floor of my home, we have many puke spots that needed some serious help. If you scrub them with a brush, the carpet becomes frizzy and the spots noticeable. If you try to let them dry and vacuum them, it is difficult to get all of the crusty pieces off (how is that for appetizing!).
This worked well on plush and frieze carpet. It also worked on some throw rugs and fit perfectly on my stairs. I just filled up the container with water and solution, plunked it down and pressed Start. After 3-6 minutes, the spot was gone and we moved on to another. Although noisy, it was better than scrubbing with my own hands. We have also used the hand held sprayer/scrubber on furniture and smaller spots. The vacuum hose was easy to use to suck up some remaining liquid. After a while, we even started to just use water on the more fresh stains and they came up quickly. The photos didn't give me a clear idea of size, so I was surprised at how big it was once I saw it in person. Just DON'T forget to empty the dirty water. It is not pleasant 24 hours later. ICK!

Worked Wonders,

My husband and I brought this because we thought it would be great to clean up after our cats when they have a hair ball. We first tried it out on this spot that was in our cream colored carpet when we first moved into our apartment. We have been living here for a year and 3 months and it was there when we moved in an who knows how long before. When we moved in the carpets were cleaned. We know for a fact because we were let into the apartment and the carpets were wet. Well we decided to put this machine to the test on the spot the carpet cleaner could not get out and all I can say is WOW! The spot was a little bit bigger then where the circumference of the spot bot so it is like a before and after and you would not believe the difference. The part that got cleaned matches the rest of the carpet now. We haven't cleaned the other little part because we use it as proof when people ask if our Spot Bot works. People are amazed!
I only have 2 small complaints. 1. I almost wish they could make the area a little bit bigger that does the cleaning. Like the size of a dinner plate. I understand that this would probably make it more bulky but it just would be nice to have the area in which it cleans a bit bigger. 2. The solutions for it can be a little costly. Just have to shop around like you would with any other house hold cleaning products I guess.

I bought this remanufactured. Love it. It works great, I used it on set in stains. I had the stain before I ordered the spot bot. Took out the stains like they were nothin'. I am very happy with the product, if you have pets its a must.
