I have 3 kids, 5, 4 and 2. They love their Mice book and ask for it to be read everyday. They have also asked to make the cheese soup at the end. What a great addition to a wonderful story. Keep them coming.

Whimsical and extravagantly illustrated storybook.,

This review is from: The Mice of Bistrot des Sept Freres (Winner ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Award - Bronze Medal) (Hardcover)
Written And Illustrated by Marie LeTourneau with assistance by Danielle Reed Baty, The Mice Of Bistrot/Des Sept Freres (Bistro of Seven Brothers) is a delightful children's picturebook about a family of Parisian mice who want to win the prize for the best cheese soup in France - and their sister, who wants to help out too! French words are skillfully spliced into this culinary tale of gathering and preparing ingredients for the love of the cooking arts, so that young readers can begin to absorb the beautiful language as they would sumptuous flavors in a meal. A pronunciation guide to the French words rounds out this whimsical and extravagantly illustrated storybook.

Truly Charming!,

Very cute! lovely with bits of French interspersed. Charming illustration. I wish the recipe had been included. It can be found online. I work at a library and am not sure the children that come in will be able to get the recipe that way. (not enough computer skills)

Frenzy arises when Chef Marcel, of Le Bistrot de Sept Freres, has only one hour to prepare his award winning cheese soup to be judged by the Committee for the Best cheese soup in All of France. But Chef Marcel is out of his secret ingredient! Chef Marcel quickly leaves to get his secret ingredient but doesn't return in time for the judge, leaving his 7 brothers to create their own secret ingredient to add. Will it work??The Mice of Bistrot des Sept Freres is a fun and adorable book. I love books that include new words and language, and Marie LeTourneau gives you beaucoup to learn! She guides you in learning new French words and sayings that you can use everyday. LeTourneau's images are absolutely gorgeous! You can spend hours looking at these amazing drawings, full of wonderful detail. Adults and children will absolutely love this book! A must read for everyone!!

Couldn't ask for a better subject! Mice and cooking. A family that has a restaurant wants to make the best cheese soup, each having their own part. VERY cute story, with French thrown in the mix, lots of fun to read outloud over and over.
The pictures were very delightful and excellent. Doesn't downplay to kids, but makes it fun to learn french and a good story of working together to achieve a shared goal! received ebook for free to review by publisher

I bought this for my daughter and I absolutely love it! She's only 10 months old at the moment, but I know that once she gets a little older this is bound to be one of her favorites. I really like that she can be introduced to the French language while enjoying a great story. I definitely recommend this to anyone!
I have also had brief contact with the auther and she is absolutely wonderful!

Paris, Mice and Cheese Soup!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Mice of Bistrot des Sept Freres (Winner ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Award - Bronze Medal) (Hardcover)
What a delightful story and amazing illustrations!! The story flows and is easy to follow for the young ones. The characters are all well developed for a children's book, each with its own distinct personality. I gave this book to my nephew who is taking French at 5 years old. He loves the idea that he gets to learn a little French and gets a good story at the same time. I only hope that there are more to follow.

I bought this book for my 2.5 year old but she is way too young for it... BUT I keep reading it when she loses interest because it is just so cute. The illustrations are beautiful; the story is great; and the French is fun. Thanks Marie. I hope to see more adventures.

Marie Letourneau's The Mice of Bistrot des Sept Freres is a delight in so many ways. She has captured the charm of Paris, the suspense of competition, and most of all, the importance of family. Her drawings are fresh and lively. The story is warm and satisfying. Readers will enjoy finding out who saves the day. Congratulations, Ms. Letourneau and thanks for giving us a treat for both our eyes and our hearts.
