5.0 out of 5 stars Nice concept January 17, 2012
Verified Purchase
The concept for this app is great and I DO use this as a reference guide at times, but use with great caution! The spoiler settings only work somewhat. After finishing "Clash of Kings," for example, I looked at the bios of Theon Greyjoy, Daenerys Targaryen, and Robb Stark and there were spoilers from the third book (especially Robb). Please fix these glitches, otherwise this product is worth nowhere near $4. I hate being spoiled!

Second, there are some entries that are beautifully written, while others are so poorly worded and riddled with grammar mistakes that I can barely read it at all. The worst part is the spoilers though. Hopefully, all of these things will be fixed so I can come back and give it a better review, because I love the concept. Use with caution!

EDIT: Many of the bugs have been fixed now. Great resource! Love it on my Fire.

This is a total waste of money. Contains only a very rudimentary level of information. Buy a hamburger with the money instead and use [...] .

4.0 out of 5 stars Great and comprehensive April 27, 2011
But I wish you could turn spoilers on and off for each of the books, not just the beginning of the series/up to date with the books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Companion for GoT April 24, 2011

Lots of charactor info, maps and the ability to turn on and off spoilers. Im only half way through book one, not watching show yet, so being able to turn off spoilers is great.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing December 24, 2013
Verified Purchase
It delivers what is promised, but just barely. The maps are weak and no better than can be found on Google. There is extensive textual information, but it is far inferior to the song of ice and fire wiki website. The app has no color whatsoever and no"splash", very dry and not much fun.

I have read the first two books of the series so far and this app has been a wonder while reading. This has helped me so much with keeping the characters and places straight. This app has helped me keep up with the story without getting lost. I would seriously recommend this app.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful May 29, 2012
Verified Purchase
I find this companion to be extremely useful as im reading the series. I can easily go back and forth between this app and my book if I need information. This tends to be much easier then going to the appendix in the book on my kindle. It also gives much more information about characters then the appendix does. The app also has settings that allow you to choose which books you have read so there will not be any spoilers in the descriptions if you have not read certain books. I would definately recommend this companion.

2.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Work So Well
None of the maps load, and the "spoiler blocker" isn't as effective as it could be. Overall not a bad buy, definitely helps with the character names which can be confusing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good
Good for looking up characters you can't remember from previous books. It is hard to keep them all straight when they are often called by a different name. So this app helps.
