Book Description

“Why Don’t I Have A Boyfriend?”

The answer may surprise you, because of...

A Dating Problem That No One’s Talking About...

If you asked, half of the women you know would give you great dating advice. But then there’s the other half. These other women may be manipulating you to gain a social advantage. Prentice Prefontaine says this is not conscious female behavior. This is just how human biology works. Prefontaine has some advice to help you spot these manipulations or use them on your terms.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hysterically funny, but should have been longer November 28, 2012
By Gen
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
As a 33-year-old, newly-single woman nervous about being back in the dating scene after five years, this book was a refreshing take. Blunt, no-holds-barred for sure, but definitely from somebody you know has your best interests in mind. It's the advice you'd get from one of your best girlfriends (if she weren't your biggest competition) or your mother (if she were honest enough to be your best girlfriend).

He's also hysterically funny--which makes the medicine go down easier and puts a smile on your face...before you head out the door on that next big date.

My only criticism is that it should have been longer. Maybe he could have gone into a little more detail about the different types of guys. We know they're all the same, but they're not /exactly/ the same. Everybody should have a dating coach like Prentice Prefontaine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where are the references? December 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The content included in chapter 4 alone is worth the price of this book. I think the advice is very unique/creative. I noticed that he doesn't support his stuff with science. So, it's not exactly an academic, even though it's believable. He cites stuff about genetics and biology, but I'd like to know where he got his information. Are there sources for this stuff? I realize this isn't an academic paper, but I wanted to know where he came up with some of his ideas. I believe that most of what he wrote is true! But the skeptic in me wants to know why it is and where he got it from. I liked what he had to say about the #1 relationship killer and the wife skills more than anything else. I've read "Power of the Pussy" and "Make Him Beg to Be Your Boyfriend," but I preferred this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hate the Language, Love the Ideas December 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm with the other reviewers who love this book. It's very well done and he's got some new ideas (the "Go Betty Crocker!" idea is one of his best). 90% of what he talks about was totally new to me. I've read most of the dating books, and I haven't seen these ideas elsewhere. THAT SAID, I don't like the language in this book. At all. I don't appreciate being called a B*TCH. Even as a joke. Both "Tao of Dating" and "Power of the Pussy" had some good ideas that I liked. But there was a lot of filler in those books. Other than the language in this book, it's one of the best dating books out there. This is a book that I could see coming back to in the future with all of his ideas.

5.0 out of 5 stars VERY Gimmicky and more like 4 and a half stars December 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought this book for my daughter who always comes to me with her
relationship problems, but never listens to what I have to say - I
thought that maybe I could explain myself to her through something
"more her speed." I must say that it certainly doesn't sound like
anything I'd ever say! That being said I do recognize the wisdom in
Mr. Prefontaine's advice. And although it is a bit strong for my
tastes, it seems to have reached my daughter, who hasn't bugged me for
dating advice in weeks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dating Advice in an Amusing Package November 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
While looking for a dating advice book for a girlfriend I came across 'Bitch, Stop That!' After seeing the title and descriptions I just *had* to read an e-copy.

After finishing the book I think that Prentice Prefontaine has actually written a companion to 'He's Just Not That Into You.' Instead of filling the book with anecdotes, he gives you bullet lists and fun acronyms to explain why you aren't snagging the man of your dreams. When you're a young woman looking for The One (so glad I'm not hunting anymore), it's easy to forget that a man is looking for.

Some of the more interesting takeaways are Prefontaine's explanation of why men like loose women (or, sluts). He follows up by showing the reader why she shouldn't feel threatened by them. The author also does a good job of walking through the importance of honest self-assessment (even down to evaluating your looks without make up or clothing under florescent lights - yikes!).

If you've ever found yourself asking yourself why you can't find a good man 'Bitch, Stop That!' it is a fun read. Have the confidence to listen to your gut - instead of single frenemies who may not have your best interest at heart!

5.0 out of 5 stars Some sensible tips December 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I don't like the title of this book. Or the cover. But on a practical level, it delivers. The advice in this book helped me. I took a risk and bought the book when it first came out (before there were hardly any reviews). But I have to say, I learned some things. I didn't realize that I was doing some of the things that drove guys away (and I didn't have has much insight into female jealousies). But as luck would have it, I DID meet a new guy recently. It's way too early to tell. If only I could credit this book for my good luck in meeting him. The good news is that we're still dating. And I plan on using the S.U.R.F. principle to keep him happy. He's got some very practical advice and good insight. If you're debating about a dating book, I'd say you might want to give this one a shot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool Advice December 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
As a single, I hope to put these advices into reality. Although at the first sight of this book, I wasn't so drawn to it. First, it's cover, then the title. But I went ahead and bought this book because I knew it wouldn't be a waste of money like some other books I have come accross in the kindle store. This book deserves more STARS!!!!!!! It has really changed me and I discovered a change. But that's not what I would mention in front of a whole kindle world. BRAVA!!!!!
