I had Norton on 3 machines for many years. I bought Bitdefender and Kaspersky because my Norton subscription was running out & I wasn't going to buy the new versions. So I put Bitdefender on 2 machines and Kaspersky on the other.

Bitdefender was easy to install. No problems at all. With Kaspersky, I needed to download and run Symantec's Norton removal...

I installed BitDefender on two of my computers. Or I tried to. It does not support Vista 64-bit yet so I couldn't use it on one of my computers.
On Windows XP, I had several problems. It interfered with several of my games causing them to shutdown. Their support did try to help me but never found the cause. I also had several instances where other programs...

I had Norton on 3 machines for many years. I bought Bitdefender and Kaspersky because my Norton subscription was running out & I wasn't going to buy the new versions. So I put Bitdefender on 2 machines and Kaspersky on the other.

Bitdefender was easy to install. No problems at all. With Kaspersky, I needed to download and run Symantec's Norton removal tools.

Bitdefender caught 3 virues (trojans) on one of my machines. Each of which had been there for over a year. I was shocked Norton had missed them!

Scanning was very easy. The user interface is well designed and easy to use. Updates take place without notice. It barely uses resources (my computers seem to run much faster than with Norton)and it hardly takes up any hard drive space (22 Mb).

Tech support is outstanding. I was able to chat with a live support person within 30 seconds. I did this as a test because Kaspersky was giving me blue screen problems and their support had no chat, no telephone and took 3 days to reply to an email.

Bitdefender is rated by ZDnet, PCWorld, PCMag and many other web sources as the best virus protection. For the price of the competitors, you can get 2 years on 2 computers with Bitdefender.

This is the one to buy.

My laptop came with McAfee, but after dealing with it for half an hour, I knew I would have to switch over to something else. I did my research and came across Bit Defender, which was rated very highly. I decided to give it a chance, and I'm so glad I did! This software does what it should- keeps my computer healthy without slowing it down or making annoying pop-ups come up every five seconds. Definitely recommended.

I installed BitDefender on two of my computers. Or I tried to. It does not support Vista 64-bit yet so I couldn't use it on one of my computers.
On Windows XP, I had several problems. It interfered with several of my games causing them to shutdown. Their support did try to help me but never found the cause. I also had several instances where other programs would stop working properly. For example, Outlook stopped sending and receiving mail. After significant troubleshooting, I removed BitDefender and Outlook started working again.
I do have some positives to say about BitDefender. It was easy to use (I am knowledgeable about computers). Also, when I requested my money back, they returned it immediately with no questions asked. That is very impressive compared to many companies.

I had one problem with the bit defender, in the begining I could not get on the internet, every time I tried a page come up saying page can not be displayed. I got in touch with the help support of bit defender in Fort Lauderdale Fl. who walked me through a few steps only to find out the reason was, my firewall. this product is so powerful that it stopped my connection to the internet. I was told to disable the firewall, I did and I haven't had a problem since. If I were to buy the bit defender again I would buy it with out the firewall and maybe save myself a few dollars. I wish the company who makes this product would fix this problem, I can't believe there isn't others out there who hasn't had the same problem as I did. I would like to hear from you if you have, other then that I think the bit defender is great. I fell very comfortable on the internet I know it is doing a good job in keeping me safe. When my term is up in two years I will buy it again, with out the firewall, no question about it. It does every thing they said it does, you will be making a good choice if you buy it. I am very happy with my bit defender and I know you will be also. Go for it and be safe!

So far the BitDefender Version 10 has done an excellent job. In about 3 months of use, no viruses have gotten through. According to the little pop-up windows, it has stopped quite a few bad guys. I have no way of knowing if any of these were false alarms.

Complete scans of the system and hard drives take some time - about 45 minutes in my case. The automatic updates performed frequently by BitDefender keep the product updated; however, the computer slows down somewhat while the updating is being done in the background.

I have used McAfee and Norton and had problems with both of them - certain other software wouldn't run at all. I don't know if those problems have been eliminated or not.

The only real complaint I have is that the interface is not very easy to use - at least for me.

I'd previously read reviews of this product that raved about its ease of use and ability to catch the bugs. After having used McAfee, Norton and Trend Micro (CA), as well as AVG (freeware) on various computers, I thought I'd give it a go.

The product seems to use fewer resources than McAfee and Norton, which seem to hog them, but it also seems to be a bit unstable. After running BitDefender Plus for three months, I've had at least a dozen times where it decides to not work (shuts down the antivirus protection). I've played with the settings and saved them, but only a 'repair' of the software will bring it back. While this is not fatal, it's darned frustrating!

To its credit, when it's up and running, it catches virus' and spam. I appreciate that, as it's why I bought it, but I am disappointed to have to do much more than set it and forget it.

I'll go with Trend Micro again next time. It seemed to be the least problematic with the smallest resource appetite.

This is a very reasonably price product with lots of features. It does seem to slow down one of my computers with limited memory, but the other with a faster processor and lots of memory seems to hum right along with no slowdown. I really like the spam filtering feature in Outlook that this brings to the table.

Since I uninstalled Norton and installed Bitdefender my laptop has been running faster, and cooler. The cooler part is the first thing I noticed. With Norton when I ran ACDSee my laptop got blazing hot, and would lock up after a bit. Since I changed the laptop is just warm and ACDSee hasn't had one lock up. ( that used to happen several times a day)I highly recommend bitdefender.

I had used Norton Antivirus with firewall for a couple years and thought I was happy with it. When it came time to renew, I decided to shop around for a more affordable product. I can't say that Bit Defender was less expensive, but it seemed to be a much better product. I love it! It doesn't slow down my computer at start up, like Norton did. I love how it checks for updates every hour. My favorite feature is that you can set it to scan your computer at a specific time every (day/week) and have it shutdown the computer when it's done. I love to have it scan in the middle of the night and my computer is off when I get up in the morning! So far I've had no problems with it, and I feel secure. I read several reviews on the product before buying it and was quite impressed. It was rated #1 or #2 on a number of websites that rate such products.
