I was so ecstatic when I was given the chance to read Bitter Demons. Since I had the opportunity to read the other two books in this series, I have found myself completely attached. The orignal story line and realistic characters drew me in from the first page and kept me devouring the pages through the night. This is a book you can't put down and may cause you to neglect your daily routine.

The book resumes where Inner Demons leaves off. Harper is just out of the hospital, she and Jackson are spending as much time together as possible. When another Demon gate comes to visit Peachville for their annual football game, Harper is happy to meet a few different futures. However, everything goes awry all too quickly. Harper really grows into her powers as she sets out to find one of the abducted futures.

This story gives us further glimpses into Peachville's past, as well as, more information about the original demons and the original coven. The details of what happened to Harpers mother are finally revealed along with the particulars of Jackson's history and family.

With all that these books have, I would venture to say they're one of my favorite series. Bitter Demons is all around fantastic. I anticipate the day that Harper finds out all secrets the town has to hold.

Sarra Cannon has quickly become one of my favorite authors with her Peachville High Demons series. Bitter Demons is the third book and the series, and my favorite thus far. Cannon is brilliant at weaving suspense and intrigue in her stories. She keeps you guessing throughout the story and the twists and turns are always unexpected and fascinating. The plot thickened in Bitter Demons and I couldn't put it down!

Harper and Jackson are the perfect teenage couple, facing adverisity in the struggle to find their way through neverending and confusing conflict. Harper has been thrown into a world she knows nothing about and doesn't know whom she can trust. You can feel her frustration as she tries to find out more about her own past and the future that everyone is forcing upon her. Jackson has secrets, secrets he doesn't want to acknowledge and as you find out more about him, he becomes a completely sympathetic character. In most popular paranormal fiction, demons are the bad guys. I like that in the Peachville High Demons series, it isn't that black and white. As the twists and turns in the plot, the lines between the demons and the witches become blurry, never entirely sure which is "good" and which is "evil". That just adds to the suspense of the story.

I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in the series, Shadow Demons, due out later this year!

4.5 mugs!

After risking her her own life to save Jackson, the Peachville Coven decides to keep a close eye on Harper and tighten even more their control over her life. They want her to be even more involved in their affairs and want to go a step further to her initiation but they still keep a lot of secrets from her and Harper is afraid to be thrown too deep inside to the point of no return. After her initiation, Brooke became a complete different person and now is criticizing Harper for not being serious about her role in the coven and in the cheerleading. Harper notices a strange crow following and watching her. When a new coven comes to Peachville for a game, Harper realizes how different the future prima of their coven is treated and how much more powerful they seem to be. After using glamour to switch places with the second future prima, something horrible happens and Harper discovers that the target was her.

This book shows me how much the coven manipulates their members and how little everyone informs Harper of her duties and even what she is supposed to be learning, while other primas learn very difficult spells, Harper only learn how to move a few things and glamour that she learned form Lark. After Caroline, the second prima from Cypress High disappear, Harper doesn’t tell anyone but Jackson that she thinks the crow has something to do with it. But Harper wants to figure out things for herself.

In this book, Harper learns a few more spells, things a little more useful than what she was learning with Coach King, she also learn about her mother’s family and how she came to be pregnant and why she gave her up.

After sacrificing her own safety to save Jackson, Harper is being put on lockdown by the Order of Shadows. They continue to find ways to try to bind her to them and dodge answers to the questions she desperately needs. When another future Prima comes to town, Harper and she become friends. While sharing information and magic with each other, they get the idea to glamour into each other at a party. What starts out as an interesting experience turns into a nightmare when the future Prima, disguised as Harper, is kidnapped. Now Harper must figure out who was trying to kidnap her and what they'll do to the future Prima when they discover she was not the intended victim.

In this third installment of the Peachville High Demon series, Bitter Demons, the readers finally get some of the back story they have been waiting for. If you have been waiting to find out more about Jackson's past or what happened to Harper's mother, than you must read this book.

After finding out Jackson's position with the town, you begin to see the complexity of the situation that Harper and Jackson are in. Harper is a very believable character that I enjoy watching grow with each book. With the increasing stress of her new life, I sympathize with her character and look forward to seeing what situation she will end up in next. Her reactions seem very real to me. Jackson, the main love interest, is an interesting character that I never seem to see enough of. Although he was in this book more and part of his past was revealed, I am still left wanting to know more about him. The same goes for Harper's mother. I hope the author includes more of her history in the next book. This story also introduced a few new characters which led Harper to begin to learn to use real magic.
