Having seen the movie "Leap Year," I rushed out to buy the musical soundtrack because of two songs. One by Mama Cass ("Dream A Little Dream Of Me"), and the other, "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" by Gwyneth Herbert. (Be aware that neither is on the soundtrack).

Ms. Herbert's "Bittersweet and Blue" CD is a heartbreaker. If you are a die-hard romantic, this CD is for you. Every song is terrific. My favorites are "Bittersweet and Blue," "Looking For," "Fallen," and "Only Love Can Break Your Heart."

The close micing of her voice enhances the intimacy of the songs. Musical arrangements are beautiful, and the audio quality of the recording is very good.

Ms. Herbert's singing is memorable and everlasting. What more can one ask of an artist with her talent?

My Dad brought this album back from England for me, and I just fell in love with it immediately. The interpretations of other writers' songs are excellent, and Ms. Herbert's original songs are wonderful. "Fever" here is given a funky makeover that contrasts strongly with Michael Buble's smooth cover of the same song. Also of note is the original song "A Little Less". Heartily recommended!
