4.0 out of 5 stars Good for what it's trying to do
A relatively exhaustive collection of exterior shots of the major business jets. No interiors, no technical information, but it will be very interesting to those in the market for business jets, either as owner, FBO, broker, etc.

1.0 out of 5 stars Looking for bizjet technical features? Buy something else!, May 14, 2000
This review is from: Bizjets: Executive Jets in Color (Paperback)
I was quite disappointed checking through this book: created by 2 hobbiest photographers (aircraft engineers working in Zurich airport), the book is nothing else but a photo album of bizjets, parking (or landing) in Zurich Kloten airport. Absolutely no technical information, no real model history, practically nothing about the features of the planes, except for some registry info. Even as a photo album, it is somewhat boring: no interiors (which is the really interesting part of a bizjet), photos only show the aircraft from the outside and mostly as parked on the ground. The very few pictures that show aircraft in the air, are all about planes final approaching or landing: no take-offs and no cruising in the air at all!

To say something positive, the album is comprehensive enough to show photos of different versions of a wide range of bizjet makes and models, even including Russian-built aircraft. However, just viewed from the outside, what is the difference between a commercial Boeing-727 or Tupoljev-134 and a VIP version B-727 or Tu-134? Practically nothing.

These are the reasons why myself, as a collector of technical books on aircrafts, feel like I've thrown away the price of this book through the window! Unless you're a registry-maniac, or your special hobby is to view parking airplanes from the outside, don't buy this album !

4.0 out of 5 stars Best book about business jets i have seen, July 16, 2000

As an aircraft enthusiast and registration spotter "Bizjets" was a welcome publication for me. I added this book to my book collection after reading a recommendation in the Aviation International News and also the Swiss aviation magazin "Cockpit" mentioned this book as a well done picture album. The book is showing nearly all common business jet models built until 1995. Military operated jets are shown as well as civil registrated jets from many different countries. Typical air to air shots from Gulfstream or Cessna demonstrators pictured during sunrise are missing, maybe another reason to buy this book. For me the aircraft shown in the picture is the most important thing. I want to see details. The book is giving me the possibility to compare different models like the Learjet 25 with the Learjet 35, or the Cessna 550 with the Cessna 560. I don't need to see cloud formations or snow covered mountains, which you won't find in "Bizjets". "Bizjets" is a wonderful picture album and a good tool to identify the different aircraft models, the best book about business jets i have seen so far.
