Blab : Underground Comics After the Circus Left Town,

This review is from: Blab! Vol. 16 (Paperback)
Blab #16 is more of the same, the panel by panel brilliance of alternative graphic artist who once flourished in the underground comics era heydey of the late 60s and early 70s plus the added Pop Surrealists of today made famous in Hi-Fructose and Juxtapoz magazines. It has a Tim Biskup cover, a David Sandlin color cartoon morality tale, the continuing adventure's of Mark LAndman's Fetal Elvis, six signature Blab cartoons, plus heavy dollops of the work of Gary Baseman of the Saturday morning cartoon series Teacher's Pet fame. It concludes with an autobiographical anecdote featuring another greasy streetlife icon from the 50s from former Zap Comics co-founder and contributor Spain Rodriguez, and a single panel Drew Friedman caricature captioned Weltanshauung (German for world-view, or philosophy). I'm glad I ordered it to complete my series of the Monte Beauchamp-edited irregularly published series, & give it four stars.
