4.0 out of 5 stars Definitely not a guitar for a moderate to exceptional player, but good for a child's beginner guitar.
I would have to start by saying that this is not the best quality guitar available, as the finish and machines are not the best around, but it does play well and my 14 year old daughter is enjoying learning on it. I recommend buying a good set of strings to go with your purchase of this guitar as the ones that come with it are very light and snapped within the first two...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Good, but Good for Price
Look, quality and price, are hard to understand, If this would cost more than $100 usd, It wont reach even half start, but for the price is easily 3 starts.

The guitar sound is decent, anything else is bad quality, even the guitar itself it bad quality, but you cant ask more for the price, this is a really, really good price, I actually have a fender electric...

I recommend buying a good set of strings to go with your purchase of this guitar as the ones that come with it are very light and snapped within the first two weeks. The new strings we put on sound much better and hold a tune much longer than the originals. Overall, you tend to get what you pay for, but it has held up well and remains playable with the abuse my daughter has issued.

The head is beautiful and same with the neck and body, but im a little disappoint because of the base being glued on but other than that, great guitar...it's a little hard to restring it but worth the effort.

This guitar is very good value for the price, and is an ideal starter guitar for kids like mine who have never played an instrument, but want to start. I will probably replace it if the playing and lessons go well, but if not at least I have not spent too much money.
The guitar looks OK (it has a few minor scratches) but it tunes very well, strings are fairly easy to replace (for someone with no experience at all), and is probably great for kids aged up to about 13/14.

If you want something worth the money, this is perfect, the only complain I have, is that if cheap is in mind, they could remove useless things in the pack and replace them with a better finish quality in the guitar.

The pack was really dirty by the way.

so i bought this thing thinking it would be fine, ignoring the bad reviews. Bad idea. I brought it into my guitar class to get tuned. The white piece above the fret board was glued on and it was crooked at that. so my teacher took it off after loosening the strings and straightend it but it still didnt fit. it was to tall and it leaned away from the fret board. he then put the strings back on and proceed to attempt to tune it only to discover that it was impossible to tune. My guitar teacher knows his stuff, he plays so much that when he moves his hands while talking they make guitar fingerings with his left hand and his right hand strums. He said it was a crap guitar and im telling you its a crap guitar. dont buy it

Pro - This was shipped very fast. Con- The strings are complete garbage. More importantly, the nut on the neck was very crooked and the guitar was not tunable, so it was not playable at all. I would not even hang this thing up as a prop in a dark haunted house. The paint on this thing was very cheap. Looks like someone cut a guitar out of plywood and then did not bother to sand off the big chunks of splinters, then used generic spray paint to cover the sub-standard craftmanship. My outtake is: Go buy a kids guitar at a reputable music store and try out the instrument first. At least you know what you are buying before you pay for it. (It is worth the extra money).

You really do get what you pay for, this thing is a piece of junk. Doesn't stay tuned long enough to play, there's glue on the bridge, the second string sounds muffled and there's nothing you can do about it. this truly is worth $1.

Okay, so I'm a college student and I traveled across the country for school. I have a $600 Takamine acoustic electric at home and didn't want to damage it on the travel so I got this guitar as a throw away for my dorm room. I opened it up and it all seemed pretty good. It's definitely a pretty guitar (if it was made better), but for twenty dollars or so, I think it's a pretty good deal. For example, they gave me a G string that was just about ready to bust... and it did. Luckily, they included some extra strings in the package, but I only got five extra strings, not 6... Still, for the price, I think it is definitely good.

For those of you who want to buy this guitar for a beginner, I say spend the extra money and get them something that's better quality. My fret board has weird grooves on the sides from the glue melting and expanding the wood. Also there's no markings to tell you where the fifth fret is and other helpful markers for beginners. My fretboard has an extra itty bitty fret at the top of the board because it was probably cut from another piece. It's mass-produced so it's not going to be god quality, but for my reasoning and the price, it's decent.

It's what the review and product is labeled as "a toy" not "an instrument." That pretty much sums it up.

I bought this item for my 8 year old son who expressed an interest in playing guitar. What I received was not what was pictured. When I ordered the item, the picture showed fret markers (dots on the neck to aid with placement of the fingers, but when I received the item, there were no fret markers-and now the picture has been changed.

Even more upsetting was that the neck was made incorrectly. The frets were all in the wrong places which made the guitar unusable. When I contacted the seller, it took several days for them to acknowledge my email, and then two more days (and another email) for a return label. Now I need to track the package and notify them when they get it via UPS so I can get a proper refund.

Overall, poor product and poor customer service.

Okay, so I read a lot of the reviews, and it sounds like some people had manufacturing problems? I don't know, but my guitar came to me in good condition. There are a few problems like:
1) It's not perfect, duh. You hear these people complaining about little nicks in the wood under the paint.. It's a $10.00 guitar, not a Taylor.
2) Everyone was right, you DEFINITELY have to replace the strings. They're worthless. Someone suggested getting nylons? No. If you want your fingers to callus so that you can actually play guitar- you're going to need to buy steels. If it's for a little child, nylons should be fine, but if you're some college kid like me that just wanted a cheap guitar to play in their dorm- steels, steels, steels.
3) The accessories the guitar come with are all pretty.. lame. They gave me a bass pick? Haha, like thanks a lot for the bass pick and the acoustic guitar... The "soft, gig" bag is a cheaply made gym bag in the shape of a guitar. Actually, my gym bag is of WAY better quality.. it's just too small for a guitar. The extra set of strings are still as bogus as the first, and the only real thing worth having is the tuning pipe, but there are easier ways to tune these anyway.
There are some upsides, like:
1) You only paid $10 for it. And for what you're paying for, it's worth having a guitar around.
2) It doesn't stayed tuned for the LONGEST time, so you get plenty of practice in tuning it, especially if you're learning to tune by ear. (I think this is a plus for beginners... If you turn out to be a decent guitarist one day but still need mummy to tune it for you, that's a problem!)
3) This product that I received is not total crap. Some people complained about there's being "un-tunable"... Mine tunes just fine. And stays turned through about one song, not much more though.

Overall, if you got this guitar to goof off on or to see if you're interested in guitars, it's worth the investment. If you're looking for a legitimate guitar, then you know by now that a $10.00 guitar was not made for gigs. Best wishes to everyone, and please enjoy!
