About the Author

I am retired and living in the Villages, FL. with my wife, Ursula. Our son, Christopher, is a schoolteacher who resides in Ewing, New Jersey. I was controller for one of the world’s largest architectural firms for almost 40 years and worked 16 years in Washington, DC and 24 years in New York City. Although pursuing accounting as a career path, I have always had a great interest in creative writing. I have authored more than 200 songs, writing both the music and/or lyrics and collaborating with numerous writers and musicians through the years. I signed 39 publishing agreements with a host of publishers and almost realized a cut on Vanessa Williams’ “Sweetest Days” album; however, 39 times my dreams did not come to fruition. I have written many poems and short stories and one screenplay. I was poet laureate of my high school and college. I love movies and had seen over 1,500 by the age of 13. I have always enjoyed horror and from an early age wrote numerous short stories in that genre. Some of those early stories are in this book. My favorite horror movies are Halloween, Night of the Living Dead, and the Evil Dead. My favorite movie of all time Is Frank Capra’s It’s A Wonderful Life with James Stewart. My favorite authors are Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, John Sandford, Michael Connelly, Robert B. Parker , Clive Cusler, James Patterson, Jeffery Deaver, Dean Koontz, Edgar Allen Poe, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, James Lee Burke, Lee Child and Richard Matheson.

More About the Author

I just published my sixth collection of horror stories with surprise endings, "Scary Stories: A Collection of Horror - Volume 3"

My web site, billywellshorror.com, includes sample stories from all six collections.

Since reviews are the life's blood of every author, I would greatly appreciate a review of any of my books on Amazon.com.

Stephen KIng is my favorite horror writer, and I admires what King has accomplished in the horror genre in terms of movies made from his considerable volume of work.

My Coffeesmoke channel on You Tube has amassed over 1,250,000 hits, mostly from my "Dead Celebrities" videos

I love movies and had seen over 1,500 by the age of 13 when there was snow on 13 channels after midnight.

My favorite horror movies are Halloween, Night of the Living Dead, and the Evil Dead. My favorite movie of all time Is Frank Capra's It's A Wonderful Life with James Stewart. My favorite authors are Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, John Sandford, Michael Connelly, Robert B. Parker , Clive Cussler, James Patterson, Jeffery Deaver, Dean Koontz, Edgar Allen Poe, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, James Lee Burke, Richard Matheson & Jack Kilborn/Konrath.

His style of writing is like other great writers that paint the scene in your mind with very descriptive phrases and words.

It's a fast read. If you like horror with a twist at the end, you will enjoy this collection of horror, blood, and gore. If things that go bump in the night scare you, don't read this book.

Wonderful collection of short stories. Some were scarier than others. I thoroughly enjoyed the different twists that were in the stories.

Billy Wells has a knack for leading you down the path to what you might think the ending would be and then in the last few paragraphs it twists to something unexpected. His style of writing is like other great writers that paint the scene in your mind with very descriptive phrases and words. I really like reading Billy's work. I would give him 4 1/2 starts if the system would allow it.

Great book, Billy!

The shorter the story, the harder it is to do well. These tales are both short and good. They span a wide range of topics, never preach, always entertain. Lots of twisted thought went into this book. I bet you will like it, too.

The stories were all short, easy to read in 5-10 minutes. The first two stories in the book were amazing, The Clown at Midnight, and Fair Game. I loved the dark humor in The Clown at Midnight. There were only a couple stories I didn't like as much. Tommorow is a Long Time and To Know the End were a little weak on the horror for me. Overall, I thought this was a great collection.

The stories are interesting and all have a twist that is many times unexpected. Easy reading and they hold your interest as you try to guess how they will end.
