True Evaluation of Hip Hop's Best,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Black August Revisited (Audio CD)
This is a very Solid CD!
I'm not concerned what other reviewers say nor think about my review here Because,it'd be totally irrelevant. So with that said. I just want to say this. Killah Priest is my very favorite emcee out there without a shadow of doubt. Again,i said "mine." Because for someone else it could be another emcee. These picks are always dependant upon the way in which another hiphop head evaluates their favorite emcee. Now with that being said. Here are some of the reasons why Killah Priest is my favorite emcee by far. Because, he's well verse in deep studies of Biblical Symbolism,Esoteric Knowledge,Afro-Centric,Ancient Cultures,Mythology,Mysticism,Metaphysics,Mystical Metaphors,Mystical Poetry,Scriptures,Rhyming,Adept at story telling,Etc; These are just some of the many things in which i could name about his multi-talented style.I also like the fact that he synchronizes great beats with his multi-layered rhymes and lyrics. Now do i wish that he wouldn't curse at times like he does. Well, that's another story.(LOL) Because, i know from the Album "Behind the Stained Glass" That he hardly at all uses cuss words except in very brief little parts. In Behind The Stained Glass when viewed in full. He's not even resulting to certain verbal speech at all. Because as witnessed in his to me "Dynamic; Behind the Stained Glass Album" He's so Great of an emcee, that he dont even have to use that sort of language. Any true to themself hiphop fan no matter how much they highly respect their favorite emcee. If they're true to themself they'll still end up evaluating some aspect or another. Killah Priest is always coming with thorough Knowledge and Wisdom for the masses to listen too. I hope he stays on the path with always producing positive exceptional Albums like:Heavy Mental,Behind The Stained Glass,Black August Revisited,The Offering,Priesthood,Etc;types of jewel spitting.Because the world needs positive insight and knowledge like those Beautiful Albums. Now i'm not getting into which albums are the best or anything.Nor am i saying the ones which i didnt mention of him wasnt worth mentioning.(Indeed all of his are worth mentioning to some capacity) Because to me, Killah Priest always puts some sort of jewels in all of his albums. He always will come thorough. However,In this particular review.I'm just expressing the ones in which i vibrated with the most! Yes, i could of named many of his other ones. However,as a hiphop fan that Iam.I look for straight thorough lyrics contained with knowledge and wisdom. Along with intense insight and information. Because, we're in a time cycle where more knowledge and wisdom needs to be rapped about. And much less negative rhyming spewing towards one another. We need true Mature Overstanding.

Mad Props to Black August,

Its like some true Hip-Hop fans have forgot that Priest is putting out sick solo licks every year for three years in a row. If there is a fine line between mainstream and underground Hip-Hop this latest release from the Priest is it. At times Black August sounds like the good ol' Wu-Tang beats and other times sounds like MTv Bait. That's been the feel of every Hip-Hop release in the past three years. Ending on a positive note the true ill' tracks really stand out in this release and is worth the buy. (the ill' tracks don't feel commercial.)
