5.0 out of 5 stars Here is an actual review
First off, I'm not sure why everyone is talking about hitting tree's with this. The only reason to hit a tree with a sword is for conditioning of your palms and getting your wrists accustomed to the shock factor. Even that would only last a short time.

Anyway the reason this PRODUCT is a five is because it is worth the amount. (It would be much more...

3.0 out of 5 stars Picture is Inaccurate!
It's a nice sword and seems very durable. It has a fine sharpened edge however mine doesn't have the "teeth" on the leading edge of the blade as shown in the picture. Only dull teeth on the trailing edge.

I am happy with this purchase. I'm only pointing out that it differs slightly from the image shown.

5.0 out of 5 stars Here is an actual review, February 28, 2009
This review is from: 27" Full Tang Black Blade Fantasy Ninja Sword w/ Sheath (Misc.)

(It would be much more accurate to call it a short sword, the product description clears states that it is only just over two feet long.) Obviously it doesn't compare to handmade katanas, but few "swords" under twenty dollars outlast anything other than sitting on a wall. Hence the higher rating.

Yes, the sheath is not well made. The tip is actually quite sharp and will tear holes in it.

No, it is not "razor sharp". People need to realize that all generic factory swords come with a knife style edge. That's not how a sword edge was designed to be. Long story short; YOU WILL NEVER FIND A SWORD THAT IS "RAZOR SHARP" THAT ISN'T TRADITIONALLY HANDMADE AND SHARPENED. And those cost hundreds at the very cheapest.

Someone stated it's too thin or light to do any damage in a fight and you would be better off with a pocket knife or your fists or some such nonsense. This is ridiculous American rationalized bull. Many Chinese swords are thiner, lighter and more flexible than this product. If that says nothing to you, I've proved my point.

This is obviously not a short sword made for sword snobs, but it's totally acceptable for the price and bloody rad for fantasy fanatics. The end.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for Price, February 2, 2008
I bought this sword a few months back. It is, obviously, very nice to look at. It's a very small sword, thin as described, and the wrap-cord handle shifts a bit when you hold it, but it's still pretty nice. If I had sharpened it, I can imagine the cloth sheath falling apart fairly fast. The serrated edge is very sharp on mine, while the rest of the blade is rather dull. That's a good thing, though, for a DISPLAY sword.
Honestly people, unless you're willing to pay a lot of money, don't expect a sword to hold up against a tree. Like most of the weapons you can buy for under twenty dollars, this isn't meant for that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cut trees? Maybe not, but definitely Bamboo!, December 23, 2008
This review is from: 27" Full Tang Black Blade Fantasy Ninja Sword w/ Sheath (Misc.)
So I ordered this sword and when it arrived I thought the package seemed a bit small. Well, I opened it up and lo and behold, it was my new sword! It was a tad smaller then I thought it would be, but still large enough! My friends and I took it straight out of the box and went to my backyard and started cutting some bamboo we had growing there. Well, like a hot knife through cheese (not butter). It definitely cut through the bamboo easily enough. It arrived sharp, looks great, and still has no nicks on it. I am very pleased with this purchase for this price!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, May 26, 2006
The delivery was fast. The sword's point is definitely good. The rest of the sword could use some sharpening. The sheath is very fragile.

4.0 out of 5 stars Disclaimer, February 10, 2007
This is a disclaimer to anyone who is going to go out and buy this and use it everyday. The point of this item is for decoration, not whacking it against trees. It can be used as showy way of cutting something if your entertaiing somebody, but to break is not surprising. REAL swords, cost thousands of dollars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, January 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 27" Full Tang Black Blade Fantasy Ninja Sword w/ Sheath (Misc.)
First off, this sword is a beautiful little monster. It looks wicked, and is an amazing conversation piece. Mine came quite sharp (and three days early, by the way), and I am always VERY careful with it, since the point is plenty sharp enough to injure one's self with.
The sheath mine came with is different than the one shown, and is much more durable - though the sword has a tendency to slip FURTHER into the sheath so that the point protrudes from the end a little, if it is not securely or correctly "buckled" in.
I am immensely satisfied with this product, and am completely in love with my "baby".

2.0 out of 5 stars Stainless steel is ok for anything under 12". NOT FOR SWORDS, June 4, 2010

This review is from: 27" Full Tang Black Blade Fantasy Ninja Sword w/ Sheath (Misc.)
As my title suggests, this sword is a display piece. It is made of stainless steel. A real sword is made of carbonized steel and needs to be oiled every month to prevent rust. Also one guy said his snapped at the handle. To me that implies it isnt really full tang. Full tang means that the blade is just as thick inside the handle and makes your weapon more reliable. Show pieces make the tang as thin as a half inch or less, you could snap it with your bare hands. There are many people out there holding a handle while their blade goes flying because they didn't realize they did not have a sword meant for anything but hanging on a wall. I'm not saying this sword isnt cool for the price but if you want usability you really need to spend nearer to 200-500. You get what you pay for. LOOK for CARBONIZED steel and HEAT tempered as well as FULL tang. And be sure to take proper care because tho carbonized steel makes a usable if not awesome weapon it can rust if not oiled. This stainless steel SHOWPIECE will probably never rust so put it on the wall and forget about it. All you can really do is show it to your friends and maybe intimidate an idiot. Note* i have seen showpiece swords being played with break at the handle and the blade swung around and stabbed the user.
