I had the honor of booking these guys back in late 2004, and I was more than impressed, to say the least. Their formula, although not unlike most similar bands in the pop-punk genre, is very tight and incredibly catchy. They've swarmed so quickly to success that I imagine I couldn't even get in touch with them personally today, whereas just over a year ago, I was able to book them. That's a nice track record - and with good reason!

Unlike most of these little mall punk pre-teens, I refuse to give an average, generic pop-punk record 5 stars. A Black Eye or a Broken Heart is very typical, very safe and frankly, only mildly entertaining. If you've heard anything by fall out boy or the starting line, you've already heard Driving East. I give them a little credit for trying, but none for originality.

Driving East is a GREAT new band of of Virginia! This six-song EP is absolutely unbelievable! From track 1 to track 6 you will enjoy every note you hear. "All She Ever Wanted" is one of my favorite songs by anyone, and "First to Fly" is a close 2nd! They are on the Warped Tour this year and will play @ Tale Field (where I work for Cutters Baseball) on Aug. 23rd. Check them out! Get this CD and you will not be disappointed!
