I just received this and I think something should be made more clear for anyone else wanting to buy it. This is not a single book collecting the late 80s-early90s reprints of 1950's Original Black Cat comics. What you get when you order this is a set of 10 actual comic books from the early 90s. In other words this isn't an "archive" style paperback volume printed on nice paper that will last--it's 10 comics printed on the crappy kind of paper they used to use in 1991. The comics are in perfect shape, however, except for unavoidable paper yellowing. On the other hand, if you were looking for the actual comics, this isn't such a bad deal.
BUT the true nature of the product is not made clear in the description, which definitely makes it sound like you're getting a "book" and not a pack of comics.
I returned my order. Hopefully Recollections will be able to publish bound versions on good paper sometime soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Original Black Cat is Back!, February 28, 2006
This review is from: Black Cat Collector's Set No.1 (Paperback)
The Original Black Cat, costumed Heroine from the 1940s & 50s.
Beautifully drawn, well written. Reprints from the work of the original artists plus new stuff by todays legends. A MUST for any true comic-book collector. Like getting a piece of history at a great price.
I Love it.

3.0 out of 5 stars golden age review, September 29, 2008
This review is from: Black Cat Collector's Set No.1 (Paperback)
The character is wholesome unlike the phantom lady. Most of the stories are post war were Lee Alias did the artwork. the stories are simple and stright forward. Lee's artwork is realisticly detiled to the last line. If you want to see a snapshot of life in the late 40's or early 50's then having a redhead in a one piece bathing suit is a plus.
