This book (although it needs updating and I do believe an update is being planned soon) needs to be read by every Black person in the USA, especially ministers in the black community. This book gives a great concept of Rev. Albert's Cleage's views on new directions for the Black church. As a people, we desperately need his point of view and his teachings. Currently, his church THE SHRINE OF THE BLACK MADONNA church is still in very strong existence today and the programs and classes address the needs of the Black community. I found the book to be very helpful.
