Should be so much better...,

Let me start this off by saying that I really, REALLY wanted this to be a good game. I have been looking forward to it almost all year with all the pushbacks and all. The gameplay is average at best. The graphics are bad. The halftime band challenges are a cool idea executed badly. The buttons they ask you to push are in weird places on the controller and hard to remember especially considering the speed the buttons appear on the screen. The biggest problem I have is the small selection of schools represented in the game. There are so many more HBCU's than were put in the game. With the long amount of time we had to wait for the game, there really is no excuse to release such a disappointing product.

This was a Christmas gift for my twenty-two year old son. He got six new games in total for an xbox360 and out of the six games this was the only one that he wanted to return. I thought the graphics for the marchng band sequences were incredible which was the main reason that I thought my son would like it. As it turns out the actual football play was not on par with the marching bands. I personally would have preferred a game centered around marching bands from historically black colleges competing against each other.

The Good:
* Great history tool, which includes a virtual museum. * Great pregame and halftime show. * The in-game crowd makes it feel like you are at the game. The Bad: * Glitchy, buggy and feels like an unfinished game. * Play-by-play is out of sync. * Makes it feel like you are playing a game from 20 years ago. The Bottom Line: No doubt that this game was designed to teach you about black college football and it certainly done that. Unfortunately it feels as if by the time they finished this game, they said to themselves: "Oh we forgot to include the actual football into this game." Too bad I don't have my Madden 93 disc anymore, because I swear it feels almost like it(watered down version, too) when it comes to gameplay. This game only has two penalties: Delay of Game and Offside...that's it! The players keep repeating same trash talk lines over and over and over. Player models are very robot-like and show no personality in terms of skill. While the presentation is great, the gameplay is certainly not. Even the developers knew this, which is why this game was delayed several times in order not to compete with other superior releases.

I couldnt actually beleive that this game had gotten into stores. I saw it on the shelf at my local rental store and had to try it. All I can say is really? First off, the game is in and of itself, racist. If there were a "White College Football" everyone involved with the damn thing would be sued. Secondly, there is no reason for a game to be this horrible with the advanced systems we have today. This was MAYBE on par with a PS2 game. MAYBE. Avoid at all costs.

It definitely captures the experience of black college sports, the stadiums, crowds, and bands. But if you've ever played Madden, then you will be disappointed in the game play and play calling.

I think the game is wonderful. The problem I have is people comparing the game to NCAA football, lets not forget that this is only the 2nd edition of the game. I too wish all HBCU's were repersented, like Howard or NC A&T. But im sure they will be added on later editions. I love the drumline challenge and the halftime show. I think we need to be happy we FINALLY have something that represents OUR schools in a positive light.

Game was purchased for my 13 year old son. But like any parent, you get pulled into playing and have had a few tournaments with him, his friends as well as mine.
I hope they keep this game around and start a series.

Junk Racist Game,

Not really a fun game, buggy as all get out. Halftimes are over the top but in a glitchy junky graphic kinda way. And the fact that there isn't a "white college football" always makes me see this as some kind of reverse racism. That's like having "Native American Casino" games, or "Trick the Polish Guy"... just seems like the whole premise for the game is to get pro-black people to buy the game based on what it's supporting and not the game itself.

Terrible game. Bad Graphics and worse gameplay... If they came out with a White College Football game... it would be racist... But since it's about Black History of College football it's ok? Don't think so
