5.0 out of 5 stars Classy Cards
What can I say? These are printed well on nice thick paper and are simple enough that you can make of them whatever you want. What can I say? These are printed well on nice thick paper and are simple enough that you can make of them whatever you want. If you find yourself sending thank you cards to various people on a regular basis then these will work out really nicely. I was looking for a nice simple cards that I could send without either feeling like I was sending gaudy, tacky little things that people seem to feel are the norm these days or like I was just sending a business letter. These allow you to write a handwritten note, and have your message delivered by a real, live, person! It seems so romantic, the thought of having somebody hand deliver a note for just the cost of these notes and a stamp (liable to change suddenly) that you might think these are too good to be true, but I assure you, the postal service and this Peter Pauper Press fellow seem to have teamed up to bring you this little known gem of American life. Impress colleagues and friends (hell, I hear you can even write to the President of The United States) with these notes and you won't be sorry. Just use a nice luxurious pen while your at it. I mean, if you've come this far...

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice, April 23, 2009
This review is from: Black and Cream Thank You Cards (Cards)
I am so pleased with these cards. They are big enough for a quick note, and don't make one feel like you have to write a lot take up all the card space. I have used these for professional reasons and the coloring works perfect for that type usage. I would definitely buy these again.

Was able to feed these through my HP5610 printer and it turned out very well. High quality paper, crisp printing on the front of the cards. Will order again.

Summary:

If you are looking for a cheap thank you card for friends and most business applications these will work fine. If you are trying to use this for upscale business messages, such as for potential employers, they look unprofessional.

There is a UV (think glossy) coating on the printed areas. This lets them run the press at much higher speeds and therefore saves on the cost. Peter Pauper Press used a lighter ~80-100 lb offset stock; heavier, but not card/index/cover stock heavy. Put four sheets of office paper together and that is about the thickness you should expect.

Pros

-cheap

-great for friends

-comes with envelopes

Cons

-UV coating prevents recycling, makes them look low class (think thermography), not lined up on 20% of my cards

-paper stock is light

I bought these for my boss who was looking for something "professional, classy, and not too feminine." When I showed them to him, he was very happy. They are very professional and classy, with textured paper and the simple "Thank You" in black.

I love these notecards. I bought the blue and silver set for myself and gave the black and cream set to a guy friend of mine so that he could have a set that's masculine yet elegant. The quality of the notes are very nice and a bargain at the price. The envelopes are nothing to rave about, though. Still, a very nice set.
