I use these for my knees and elbows when I'm digging dinosaur bones out of the ground in Montana -- where we lay for hours at a time. I have used less dense, less expensive versions of these "gardening pads," but this type is well worth the extra cost.Spend the extra few bucks and your body will thank you that evening ;-) My only complaint/suggestion is that I wish I could buy a version that was twice this size -- not because I'm big (I'm not) but because I use them for my hips and elbows and a little more "wiggle room" would be nice. Otherwise I have to constantly shift these things to keep them under my pressure points. But if you were *only* using these to kneel on level ground, then this is all you need.

It would have been helpful if the size of this was listed besides the thickness.I feel they could have made it about 4" wider and another 2-3 inches longer, the photo is deceiving. If it was any bigger than that it may be cumbersome to get into smaller places. It is 7 1/2" wide and 16 1/2" long. However, you lose 2 3/4"because of the "handle" where you can't kneel on. HOWEVER it is very comfortable and now I can kneel inside or outside the home for a while with minimal discomfort when I get up. I have arthritis and degeneration in both knees so until I decide its time for knee replacement surgery, Ill be using this pad.

If you have to work on your knees this is the knee pad you can't live without. I've tried a dozen knee pads and they all fall short of this pad by Black & Decker. I've had two knee surgeries and thought I'd never be able to kneel down to do any work again. This knee pad made a big difference! This is a truly first rate knee pad. The resilient foam is thick enough to protect your knees from uneven ground, pebbles and the frequent nut, bolt, screw or washer. It has an easy to clean surface and is durable. I've bought several of these and try to have an extra one on-hand for a two person job. I more often end up giving one away to my helpers who say it's the best knee pad they have ever used. It also makes a great seat cushion/pad for stadium bleachers. My only complaint is that I wish they made these in a larger size - about double. I haven't found any that are as good or better.

I bought this kneeling pad for kneeling alongside the bathtub when washing our small dogs. It's a 20-25 minute job in total, and kneeling on towels or bath mats with our already sore knees makes that time really uncomfortable. This kneeling pad made the job as comfortable as I could ask for. The cushion feels great - it's more of a solid gel feel than just foam. It wasn't any worse for wear after being splashed. The water sat right on top of the surface until I dried it off afterward. I don't know if it's waterproof, but it is certainly water resistant. The kneeling space is just the right size. I wouldn't mind if it was a few inches bigger, but my husband fit on it fine and he is no dainty creature. I'm glad I found it, and I'd buy it again if I had it to do over.

purchased this to cushion my knees while i bathe my kids...it's very nice and thick and does the job but with a few caveats. it's rather narrow, i'm an average size woman and it would have been nice if it were wider to also cushion my shins. also the material is very shiny and smooth so it's not non-slip...it would have been good to have some grip so you don't slide around.other that those two things...very good for the price but in retrospect would pay more for a bigger, non-slip one.

I ordered this despite the mixed reviews. After looking at it, I would not have purchased, but it is to expensive to ship it back.Pros: Very good quality foam and tough exterior. Cons: Too small! I am only 4'11" and it is too small for me. My knees barely stay on it, either length or width. Not wild about the black color. Black things get lost too easily in the garden. A quick visual scan does not find this pad easily. If I'm digging, and it gets half-buried, then it is really difficult to spot.

The 1-1/4" thickness of this pad provides a great cushion for anyone with knee problems. After a knee injury, kneeling was very difficult for me but hard to avoid at times, so I started using a 1" thick gardening pad I'd already had. After buying the Black & Decker pad, I found the extra 1/4" thickness made this pad much easier to kneel on. The difference in cushioning vs my 1" pad was enough for me to buy 2 more of these to keep around the house so I'm not ever tempted to kneel without one. I've also used 2 of these side by side when I need a bigger kneeling platform. The cover is easily cleanable which is a plus.

I bought two of these pads a couple years ago and they have worked out great. They are very soft and durable.I bought two more of them recently and was very disappointed because the product has been changed even though the photo is the same. The new versions are much thinner and are made of a hard material not suitable for kneeling. It is also very troubling that some of the old positive reviews have been retained so that a purchaser is misled into thinking that the product is good. I urge Amazon to return to the original product specs or at least post an accurate picture and reviews that pertain to the new version of the product. I returned the new inferior pads but would be happy to buy more of the older versions.

When I received this kneeler I was very disappointed. It's very hard and has very little give to it at all. I purchased it to use in the bathroom while giving our son his nightly bath. It's so hard it isn't much different than kneeling on the hard tile.

It's not worth $10. Not even close. It's just a piece of foam with the Black & Decker logo on it. It looks and feels like packing material I've seen in packages that protect flat screen TV's. In my opinion, it's worth $5 tops.I just looked at it again. It doesn't even match up to the photo depicted here on Amazon! No finished surface. No contoured grip, etc. Maybe there are mixed reviews because some people are getting the actual product depicted, and some are getting the crappy one like I did. Shame on you! |
