Customer Reviews

These seem to be a better design than the originals.
D. Sutton
While these were not an exact replacement for the Black and Decker grip peg that I lost, it actually works better.
Patrick Sustrich
They fit my Workmate too, although it takes a hammer to get them in and a pry bar to get them out.

these pegs fit the 20mm holes in the Festool MFT tables perfectly - and they are a lot cheaper than festool bench dogs and clamps or 3rd party bench dogs like Quas dogs. They fit so well in fact, that you can cut the bottom clips off if you wish. They are not precision fit aircraft grade aluminum like the Quas dogs, just plain plastic, but for what a set of Quas dogs cost you can buy several dozen of these and re-shape them with your jig saw or propane torch to fit your needs.

update: I just noticed that Rockler had their equivalent bench dogs on sale for 4 for $2.99 In their July, 2011 catalog! (Rockler item#64256)!

The Workmate pegs are the perfect accessory for the used workmate I purchased at GoodWill. Now I can clamp small strips of wood for sanding and planing, and fold the whole apparatus away when I'm done. Living in a small apartment, I miss my full basement workshop, but the versatility of the pegs allows me to do a lot of tasks with hand tools that I could not do before.

If you own the Black and Decker workbench, these pegs are good to have in addition to the four pegs you get with the workbench. They come in handy from time to time. Not essential but useful.

I have a Workmate I bought in 1979 -- B&D Deluxe Dual Height, No. 79-005-04. These replacement pegs fit perfectly. They're studier than the original (black) pegs, but about 3/16ths higher. They're also about 1/4" wider and deeper. The last of those means you basically can't mix them with the old pegs on the same side of a board, but there's probably little reason to try that anyway.

I lost most of my Workmate bench dogs, and because these are older models wasn't sure about fit.

These fit fine, snug, and require a little effort to swivel them, but this is far better than the original dogs that were a little sloppy.

These dogs are about twice the width, deeper (front to back) and beefier than the black originals. Nice replacement. The originals are still available, but at similar costs, these seem a much better value.

Wish they also came in a 6-pack, though.

I own one of the early Workmates that were made, from the early 70's. The original swivel pegs were blue, but I lost one. I ordered the newer orange pegs, which claim to fit "all Workmates", however, they are too tight for the holes in my old Workmate. I have had to do a lot of trimming of the orange stems to get them to work. It's workable, but definitely not just "plug and go". They require trimming first. Once that's done, they work fine.

I've got a 30yr old Workmate that has seen a lot of projects and I'm happy that Grip Pegs came along. These should last another 30yrs and with more strength... Incidentally the Workmate is only Black & Decker item I'll brag about, enough said!!!

Bought a package of 4 Black & Decker swivel grip pegs today. Slightly oversized from previous swivel grips. They do not fit either of my two Workmates -- one is a less than 2 year old Workmate WM-125, the other is an older Workmate similar to WM-225. Package and B&W website say fits all B& W Workmate products - not true!
