5.0 out of 5 stars For 13 bucks, this iron is a steamin' machine!
OK, for this price you're getting a relatively small iron. But it's a real iron. Much bigger than a travel iron.

Anyway, I needed a spare iron for quick de-wrinkling sessions at my girlfriend's place. (I live out of a duffle bag when I'm there and she doesn't own an iron!) I own a top-o-the-line B&D iron which I love, so I went for this inexpensive...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good iron,but
there is no auto shut-off,there is no off/on control at all, just unplug or plug in.On positive side makes great steam and does have non-stick soleplate. The fabric select dial is very difficult to turn.I got it for my sewing room,it takes care of my needs there, didn't pay much for it,so guess I got what I paid for.(Friday Sale 9.99)

OK, for this price you're getting a relatively small iron. But it's a real iron. Much bigger than a travel iron.

Anyway, I needed a spare iron for quick de-wrinkling sessions at my girlfriend's place. (I live out of a duffle bag when I'm there and she doesn't own an iron!) I own a top-o-the-line B&D iron which I love, so I went for this inexpensive "younger cousin."

Bottom line: I recommend it. Once it gets going (a couple of minutes tops), it really whoooshes out the steam! I fill it up, crank it up, and use it for Dockers and Timberland cotton shirts. The steam blows through so well I only have to do one side! It's a time-saving wrinkle killer!

As for finesse jobs on other fabrics, I couldn't tell you. But for hammering out wrinkles in cotton, it's great. I recommend it and it's so inexpensive, you can't go wrong.

5.0 out of 5 stars Light Iron does wonderful job!, October 17, 2005
This review is from: Black & Decker AS75 Quickpress Iron with Variable Steam and Nonstick Soleplate (Kitchen)
I purchased this item based on the reviews. It really is very very light. I was suprised at how quickly its heated up and ready to go and how quickly it cools down and can be easily stored. Its design allows the heated part of the iron not to touch when you set it down and it also acts as a wrap for the cord. The steam is great and powerful. It comes with it's own water pouring cup for steam too. Very satisfied!

I'm impressed with this iron because the price is so reasonable and the product is reliable. It's easy to spend more money on something that may seem to be better because of it's BRAND name but why pay more when this iron is just as good or better. I will definatley buy another Black & Decker iron.

3.0 out of 5 stars I've seen better, September 23, 2005
This review is from: Black & Decker AS75 Quickpress Iron with Variable Steam and Nonstick Soleplate (Kitchen)
I really don't understand why this iron is special. The steam sputters, the iron bottom leaves a weird residue on dark clothing, and it's not even especially pretty. Also, I later saw this on sale for about a quarter of what I paid for it, and that did not make me happy.

The water compartment (filled below the maximum) spills everywhere (bad design!) and is also difficult to empty! The steam isn't half-bad, though: It delivers some pretty big puffs of steam when it wants to. However the iron overall doesn't have any standout features. It's a normal, everyday iron.

In short, the iron works, but really isn't worth any extra time or trouble. If you need one, and the price is right, go for it. But if you're really shopping around and looking for a good deal, search elsewhere.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, December 17, 2007

I recently (November '07) purchased a Black and Decker Light 'N Easy iron. I have been so disappointed. It sticks to my clothing when I iron, on any heat setting. I can't do anything to help me iron my clothes without it sticking, like ironing on wax paper. Nothing helps. It does not steam properly. Neither does it heat evenly. And I do not have my warrenty anymore, or I'd take it back to Walmart pronto! This has taught me a lesson.

Very poor quality. Unless you rarely use an iron, not recommended. Sputters and spits. Stains cloths. Poor job.

3.0 out of 5 stars An okay iron with some annoying problems, August 26, 2007
This review is from: Black & Decker AS75 Quickpress Iron with Variable Steam and Nonstick Soleplate (Kitchen)
The irons does an okay job but it has problems. It's hard to get water into it becasue the holes at the top are too small. The steam is great but lasts only a few minutes because the water runs out way too soon. Sometimes if I'm not careful water from the top drips out onto my clothing.
