5.0 out of 5 stars Black and Decker vs. Vornado
I own two heaters: a Vornado and the Black and Decker. Both of these heaters are wonderful and I would recommend either equally. First, the safety features on both are outstanding. Neither are similar to the heaters we grew up with which were made of metal and glowed like charcoal. These both produce very good heat, quickly, and are nice to have if you do not wish to...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a very good heater
I work in an office in CT that is all glass. In the winter our central heating system has some trouble keeping up b/c it's very, very cold near the windows and this heater is NOT good. Other space heaters I've had are able to warm the room much quicker and maintain that temperature.

This heater doesn't get very hot. You can touch it when it's set to it's...

Neither are similar to the heaters we grew up with which were made of metal and glowed like charcoal. These both produce very good heat, quickly, and are nice to have if you do not wish to heat your entire home. The Black and Decker does have many safety features which is nice. Both have their pluses and I truly can't think of minuses for either. Order both!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best space heater ever made..., December 29, 2009
This review is from: Black & Decker BDHF300 Heater Fan (Kitchen)
I have owned this little workhorse for 7 years. It is safe with grandkids and pets, reliable as the sun, and very effective heating for a small to medium-sized area. Mine is finally giving up the ghost after all these years, and I plan on replacing it with another one just like it.

This heater doesn't get very hot. You can touch it when it's set to it's highest setting. I suppose it would be good to keep a storage room above freezing or maybe it'd be good around pets or kids since you couldn't possibly burn yourself on it.

For the price you're going to pay, I say skip this one and keep looking.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Heater, January 18, 2003
This review is from: Black & Decker BDHF300 Heater Fan (Kitchen)
The Black and Decker heater is a pretty good heater at a value price. It's got several different settings depending on the size of the room you want to heat and puts out a lot of heat in a limited area. One nice feature is the temperature indicator. It's also got a Frost Watch setting which will automatically turn the heater on if the temperature drops below 40 degrees. It also has very nice safety features. Including a switch under the heater that is pressed when the heater is sitting upright. If it should tip over, the switch is deactivated and the heater automatically shuts off.
It's a very nice little heater.
