The BDL153S has both an audible and visual indicator that lets you know when the edge of a stud has been located. This is absolutely indispensable when you're trying to affix things to your walls, because no matter how heavy or light, wall hangings stay in place best when they're anchored in something sturdier than drywall. I may have received a defective item but I didn't want to waste my time trying another. Studs were apparantly 4" in width and it wouldn't detect AC unless placed on top of an outlet or switch. I even checked it on a wall with an open back to verify it didn't work properly. I sent it back and purchased a Zircon Pro SL-AC from a local merchant and it works just fine.

Couldn't ask for a better sensor. I checked against the wires and studs through my drywall and can confirm its accuracy.

I ordered BDL153S but I got BDL150S. I replaced the order and still got the same wrong item. Finally I returned the wrong item and get it from somewhere else.
