4.0 out of 5 stars Good low priced entry level laser level
A low priced entry level laser level that's good for everyday use around the home. Comes with vertical and horizontal bubble levels, a self attaching mechanism (it's basically a built-in nail) as well as an attachment to adhere to an existing nail/screw. The beam covers long distances (12ft+) and is visible even with the lights on (although it can be faint if it's under...

2.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre design
The level comes with a nail system that is what makes it stand on the walls. The problem is that if you use this nail (in order to use the level as showed in the advertising pictures), you will leave a small, noticeable whole in your wall(!). There is no way of using the graded wheel that forms the base of the level without "nailing" it. This makes it very poorly design...

This makes it very poorly design and only suitable to use fully either in places where you wouldn't mind leaving a small whole or during construction times, when you know the wall your are working will be later be repainted. of course, who would be interested in hanging a picture then?

A low priced entry level laser level that's good for everyday use around the home. Comes with vertical and horizontal bubble levels, a self attaching mechanism (it's basically a built-in nail) as well as an attachment to adhere to an existing nail/screw. The beam covers long distances (12ft+) and is visible even with the lights on (although it can be faint if it's under direct lighting); horizontal adjustment is easy once mounted.

It won't solve all your leveling needs, but with it's low a price it will more than pay for itself.

Very good tool. The only remark is that to place it on the wall to measure some level you have to open a hole in the wall because they hold with nail-shaped.

My daughter needed a basic laser level to do some family picture hanging and this does it fine. But you really need to know what you want your level to be able to do before buying.

For very basic around-the-house simple stuff, this is great.

The laser level part works perfectly. However, attaching it to the wall doesn't work too well. The pin that's provided with the laser level sucks and leaves big holes in the wall. I ended up using some double-sided tape to hold it to the wall. That worked pretty well.

I purchased a pair of B&D laser levels because one is tiny and one is more capable. I find I just won't use the BDL220s shown here because it makes me do the leveling. I always use the slightly larger BDL310s, also sold by Amazon, because it is AUTOMATIC LEVELING. WOW, that's better. Amazon resellers have it for $70ish and it is just great! Get the BDL310s instead.

It was just what I ordered. It was larger than I thought but it is perfect for a man. It is a little large for a lady. But it works as advertised.

I've used this to hang two tvs and a customizable closset system. All three items look great. As previously noted it does stick in to drywall with tiny nail which can be a nuisanse but I can live with that because its very secure and can be covered by a drop of paint. On a plaser wall I used paint tape to secure base then attach level! Worked like a charm!

I'm quite happy with this product.

2.0 out of 5 stars Barely Adequate for Even Simple Jobs, July 8, 2009
This review is from: Black & Decker BDL220S Laser Level (Tools & Home Improvement)
There are two problems with the bubble levels in the BDL220S. First, the black indicator lines in the bubbles are too far apart, compared to the bubble size, making the device terribly inaccurate. Second, the bubbles are overly sensitive. I find this device nearly useless and regret purchasing it.
