Black & Decker BDPS600K two-speed quick-clean paint sprayer
Black & Decker's BDPS600K two-speed quick-clean paint sprayer is ideal for exterior use with all paints and stains (view larger).
Black & Decker BDPS600K two-speed quick-clean paint sprayer
Its easy-fill, 1.25-quart capacity side canister makes it easy to fill with less spilling and hassle (view larger).

Spruce up your property’s curb appeal with help from the 6.9-gallon-per-hour Black & Decker BDPS600K two-speed quick-clean paint sprayer. As an airless sprayer, the BDPS600K delivers more power and faster speeds than high-volume low-pressure (HVLP) sprayers—and it can manage handling heavier paints and stains, including latex, when following the paint manufacturer’s recommendations for spraying and dilution rates. It can work up to five times faster than traditional brushes and rollers (when covering a 6-foot-by-40 foot fence). Ideal for painting patio furniture, window shutters, and storage sheds or staining decks and fences, the BDPS600K is equipped with color-coded nozzles to easily differentiate between spray patterns for a consistently smooth and even finish.

Efficient and Effective Exterior Sprayer

Décor decisions don’t end once you step outside. Thankfully, Black & Decker’s BDPS600K single-speed quick clean paint sprayer helps liven up your outdoor living spaces without the hassle of messy and time-consuming paint pans, brushes, and rollers.

Its 2.5-amp motor can handle thin, free-flowing paints and stains as well as heavier liquids like latex paint (although you should follow the paint manufacturer’s recommendations on the can for spraying and dilution rates). While you can spray directly from the paint or stain can with the BDPS600K, the 1.25-quart capacity easy-fill side-fill canister allows you to refill the sprayer without having to take it apart—just lay it on its side, unscrew the canister lid, pour in more stain or paint, screw the lid back on, and spray. The sprayer pick-up tube doesn’t come out of the canister, so there’s no dripping. An included pour-assist bucket aids in the transference of paint or stain from often unwieldy cans to the sprayer canister.

Black & Decker’s exclusive quick-clean system flushes out paint inside the BDPS600K without having to dismantle it with a simple turn of a dial. Rotate it from paint to clean, add water or cleaning solution to the quick-clean reservoir, and push the trigger. Cleansing liquid will then spray through the nozzle, clearing the way and preventing clogs after paint has dried during breaks in use. This system also permits you to save your paint or stain while you test your spray pattern with water. Once you’ve chosen your spray pattern of choice, rotate the dial back to paint and proceed. Plus, the quick-release function permits you to easily remove the front end of the sprayer to swiftly clean its internal components. Color-coded nozzles—green for a fan pattern and blue for a round-cone pattern—provide an easy and user-friendly means of distinguishing between spray patterns.

All of these features combine to improve the speed and quality of the finish so that you can spend less time painting or staining and more time enjoying your beautiful outdoor surroundings.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Last year my husband decided to borrow a paint sprayer from one of his friends.
I happened to walk in while the two of them were in the middle of the latest project.
Paint was every where but on the walls. All I could do was get out and laugh.
So when I was given the opportunity to test the Black and Decker Two speed quick clean paint sprayer. I crossed my fingers and accepted the Vine offering.

I went straight to Ace, asking for any hints before I plunged in to paint. The friendly paint guy gave me a demo using my paint sprayer and made sure that the paint was the proper texture. As I would be purchasing the redwood paint from them, he mixed the paint to a thin texture and then adjusted the machine to paint ,
he showed me how far to position the sprayer and to have a steady hand. He explained to me that If, I had a large cardboard box to allow the paint to actually hit the furniture and not spray away in to the wind.
Being armed with my new black and decker, hints and proper adjustment of paint and sprayer, I went out door to start. I managed to paint all but two chairs, as I ran out of paint, I used two coats of paint each piece of furniture. The pieces looked great!
Next, was the clean up, the Ace guy had already shown me how, so clean up was easy and quick.
I was delighted with my success, No runs or drips, furniture came out smooth and
well painted.
I had one draw back, and this drawback followers me in all I attempt...to get the parts back into the case the way it came! I left it for hubby,

The best part of this project, with the exception of a great finish on the furniture would have to be the look on my hubby's face, he said not one word but the look on the face told me all I needed to know. Job well Done.
I would recommend this all, make sure you get proper paint, if you can get some professional advice.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I was so excited to get this product through the vine program.
Just bought a new property and the place needs a lot of work. I was hoping this would make painting fences and our detached garage a piece of cake but "piece of cake" was apparently not in the design specs when this gun was developed.
To be clear I've worked with spray guns before as did my dad who also tried this gun out for me. He owned his own custom furniture business for 25 years. We have sprayed too many cabinets, chairs and tables to count. Lacquer (clear, black and white), paint and stain all went through the same gun. Clean up involved re-attaching the gun to our vat of thinner and running it for 30 seconds or until the stream was clear, done.

As soon as you open the instructions and begin reading you'll understand quickly why this is a mess.
First of all you have to thin the paint or product your pushing through it but there are no indications as to ratio or even just consistency. So right off the bat as you start spraying it becomes a trial and error process to get an even spray. Why the product needs to be thinned is beyond me but it has to be as you might find out if you try pushing it without enough thinner.
Once you get it relatively close (best guess is the best you can do here) the sprayer still manages to spit globs, even with a vigorous stirring.

Clean up is just as difficult. Things need to be taken apart and cleaned individually... I'm getting frustrated just typing this. They advertise a "quick-clean", maybe I did it wrong but I could not get this thing to clean the system thoroughly. It has to be taken apart to get a good cleaning.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
My husband and I were thrilled to finally be done with brush painting ... or so we thought we were done with brushes. We pulled out the Black & Decker Sprayer, followed the directions perfectly and poured in the primer. I have taken some pictures that I will be uploading shortly to show what an "awesome" job this sprayer did. I really should have taken pictures of our clothes because those definitely had more paint on them than the shutters we were trying to paint. Thankfully we had the shutters laid out on tarps to prevent paint from getting everywhere. The sprayer sputtered and spat paint everywhere, wasting a lot of it. It did not spray well at all as you will hopefully be able to see clearly in the pictures. It was also _VERY_ loud. We finally gave up and thoroughly cleaned it = The water came out in a cloud of mist. We picked up the brushes and started to work on the shutters. Please consider carefully before investing in any sprayer. I would suggest reading through reviews and asking painters.

I've had this for quite a while now and now that spring has arrived, I decided to use it to paint the walls in my garage. For any sprayer job, you need to prepare the areas that you do not want painted such as the floor. Paint sprayers produce a mist that can go about anywhere in the immediate proximity. The most important advice is to make sure the paint is thinned to the best consistency to avoid sputtering, drips and clogs. You should wear a painter's mask and eye protection, especially for overhead work. It was somewhat of an experimental guess for me, but I got the paint to about the thickness I thought would spray reasonably well. I didn't have much issue spraying an even coating once I got some initial experience. It is best to start somewhere that isn't so noticeable.

Afterwards, I think it looked as good as a general paint contractor would have done. I'm sure there are much better paint sprayers, but I would not spend that much money for an occasional job around the house. Aside from the initial prep work, the cleanup is always the part I don't like to do. It is just a matter of paying attention to details and being patient. The fun part is the paint spraying and seeing how fast the walls get painted. I am quite pleased with this paint sprayer. I debated whether to give it a full 5 star rating, but finally settled on a high four star rating.
