5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!
I had it before, but it broke after 10 or more years of use and I wanted to get the same one, so I ordered again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nice look. Poor craftmanship
Bought it at a local store for milkshake and other similar uses, perhaps once or twice every other day. After six months, the blade stopped working even though the motor seemed to be good. No way of finding replacement parts. I dumped it in the trash, and will not buy this brand ever again.

1.0 out of 5 stars BLACK AND DECKER SERVICE IS THE WORST EVER!!!, July 18, 2006
Hard to belive that a company the size and age of B&D can be so callous and careless with their customer service. Contact with them is impossible, and service queries go unanswered. If your blender should break or miss any part, you may consider it worthless and ready for the garbage, because getting parts is impossible.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor blade assembly, June 29, 2006
By
I have had to have the blade assembly replaced twice on this blender. The blade was recalled so it didn't cost me anything but the first time I asked for a replacement they said 2-6 weeks. After 5 weeks I called and they said they had no record of my request. I did finally get it, but less than 6 months later it cracked again. The second replacement arrived in one week. I would expect a better product from B & D.

1.0 out of 5 stars Same here!, April 12, 2006
I got one from my kids for Christmas. Used it exactly 3 times. Motor burned out. Retailer told me that 90 days had passed, so no return. So upset, I left it there at the store anyway.

1.0 out of 5 stars piece of junk, February 3, 2006
Bought this blender because it rated high on Consumer Reports. I used it daily for 6 months to make smoothies, but heaven forbid I make a daquiri! The cheap thing just started smoking and the motor burnt out in the middle of a party I was hosting.

So, I Called Black & Decker to cash in on the warrenty, but they would only replace it with a blender that was of lesser value. After insisting that I deserved something of EQUAL value, I got them to send me a FREE 4-slice toaster to make up for the difference, and my trouble. : )

WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Last week, while trying to make some punch the replacement B&D blender burnt out trying to blend thawed frozen concentrate juices and strawberries...

Black & Decker: This invention has been around for 40+ years, why makes it so difficult to make one that lasts? Stick to power tools, and get out of my kitchen.

1.0 out of 5 stars Strike three. Don't buy this blender., June 7, 2008
I have bought this same blender 3 times. The first time one of the plastic parts broke but I gave the brand the benefit of the doubt and tried it again. The second time the motor burned up. They improved the blender so the motor turns off if the blades get jammed. So I bought it again and the bolt holding the blades eventually striped itself down. Each time the blender broke within a year. I've never buying this brand again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Caveat emptor! Buyer beware!, April 26, 2008
Buyer beware! This blender cannot make smoothies or daquiris! What else would you make with a blender? The blades broke after 6 months and the motor smoked. One cannot obtain parts from the Black and Decker website because it refuses to recognize model number, part number, or item description. I give this product 1 star!

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Customer Service- Horrible Product, June 8, 2007

(REAL NAME)
I bought a BL9000 at a retailer here in town, and it just simply stopped working one day. The LCD came on, but it was like the membrane switches weren't connected. So I emailed B&D and they were nice enough to under promise and over deliver- they told me I'd have to pay to ship my unit to them, fill out a form etc etc. But then a few days later, I hear my FedEx man plop a brand new BL3900 on my steps! Wow!
I was so impressed. And then, I turned it on. And it broke- immediately. So B&D sent me ANOTHER! I haven't opened blender #3 yet, but I bet I know where this is headed!
The people at B&D put me on hold forever, but were very nice and very effective when I talked to them. It's the people in their quality control department that deserve a slap upside the head.
I can't believe they continue to put their name on a product that is so obviously DEFECTIVE.
My other kitchen appliances by Applica/B&D are great- but I'll sure be wary of buying anything else this expensive. Their excellent customer service department has been their saving grace for at least one customer!

1.0 out of 5 stars Blade base broke, January 14, 2012
This review is from: Black & Decker BL3900 ProBlend 5-Speed Stainless Steel Blender
Blender was bought for its nice look. Glass jar felt sturdy. The plastic on the blender blade base cracked. It was leaking fluids. There is a replacement to buy for 5 $. It seems likely that the base will continue to break. We will dispose of this unit and save 5$.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, not great, February 11, 2011

This review is from: Black & Decker BL3900 ProBlend 5-Speed Stainless Steel Blender
I've had this blender for 7 years and did not use it heavily. It wasn't that great at blending icy beverages, but I didn't need it for that kind of thing that often. I mostly used it to blend baby food for my son. I loved that the glass was heavy and felt very durable, that is until today when I was cleaning it and it completely cracked. Now, I can't find a replacement jar.
