This blender broke down three months after purchase. Thinking I just happened to get a lemon, I contacted B&D and they replaced it (at a cost of $5 to me for shipping). Three months later - the same result. In both cases the blades froze up and refused to spin. What happened to the good ole days when Planned Obsolescence waited at least a year to kick in?

I have purchased 2 of these blenders and I am sorry to say it was a BIG mistake!!! We had to by a new ring for it within 2 months and then the blade assembly cracked. so we bought a new one and less then 4 months later the new one also had the blade assembly cracked... Very shoddy blenders!!!!

I'm surprised at the price I got this for, but at the same time the only gripe I have is that the top is so tight it's REALLY hard to take off at times. Overall though, the product is wonderful and I'm VERY pleased with it!! I would give 4.5 stars, but I can't go 1/2 star.

If you are looking for a blender that isn't costly and is great to whip up smoothies, milkshakes or anything in a hurry, this is a great choice, at a great price!!! I definitely recommend it!!!

This blender was plugged in in my room. It then exploded, and destroyed all of my possessions which cannot be replaced. Do not buy this blender.

Even at the lowest setting, with only two cups of liquid and holding down the top hard, the result of turning it on is a counter sprayed with the contents. The liquid basically explodes against the top and, if it's hot, will burn your hand as it squeezes through. It also leaks when you pour.

The only redeeming qualities are the price (...) and that it does otherwise work (i.e. it liquefies, blends, etc.). So if you don't mind cleaning up after it, it's OK.

After only a half-dozen uses, the the round white piece that connects the glass pitcher part to the base, called the "jar base," cracked, making a mess and rendering the blender useless.

I only used this blender twice. I let it soak overnight to clean it better and the blades were rusted and I had to throw it away. Too bad...

Plastic parts on blender -iie cogs which "join" the Base to the cylinder have started to wear out after less than a year.. Black "specks" are visible when disconnected and the "wheel on the base is "chipped". It has been used every morning to make a "smoothie" - fresh fruit only.

Surely this product should last longer than this !

I would have to say that this is just about the best blender I have ever owned! It makes a great milkshake! And Whatever I make does not taste like plastic! It is great! I would highly recomend it!
