Used maybe 10 times before it stopped working completely.

The cheap plastic part that attaches the blender to the base broke the first time I attempted to use it.

And, now I have to have something over the lid so the liquid doesn't fly out!

I have no idea if they still make this thing, so I may be wasting a review. But, if they do... don't buy it. It's absolutely horrible. Controls are funky. Lid fits oddly and is hard to get on and off and most of all, it's just a terrible blender. Most attempts don't end with a smoothie, they end up with a soupy liquid with huge chunks of unblended ice. I'm not sure how you design a blender that literally can't blend, but Black and Decker has done it. I used to own one of the cheap, $20 Oster models from target and that thing blends circles around this piece of junk. Save your money and absolutely do not buy this atrocity.

I purchased this blender because of the power and low cost. However, it screws on to its base strangly and a bit dangerously! While trying to get it on one day I wasn't doing something correctly and the entire assembly came apart. It was in 7-8 pieces..nuts, bolts, washers, blades, etc. Just now, I plugged it in and it was already on. The clear removable part on the lid fell inside and the blades ripped it to pieces. It was flying like glass all over my kitchen. I had to close my eyes and unplug it from the wall. Though I am impressed with the way it shredded the plastic with the powerful motor, it almost took an eye! And, now I have to have something over the lid so the liquid doesn't fly out! I wouldn't recommend this blender unless you want to risk your body for the powerful motor! However, it doesn't crush ice nearly as well as it did that lid!

I used this blender maybe 40 times. I thew the entire thing in the trash yesterday.
Many times I noticed little black pieces coming off the blender after blending my smoothies. They are PLASTIC pieces that connect to the blades and make the blades spin... how cheap.
Yesterday, while I was attempting to blend my smoothie, the entire bottom of the blender began to violently spin around my kitchen counter as smoothie flooded out of the bottom. I had to unplug it from the wall because I couldn't reach the buttons.
I should have gotten a new one sooner anyways because it never blended very well either. I always had giant pieces of fruit that couldn't be blended into the rest of the smoothie.
Don't buy it. It's a waste of money.

While at Target, getting new things from our new home...my husband and I picked up this blender. After all it was on sale and the glass container seemed like a big pro to me. After we got home and took the blender out of the box...we plugged it in. The blender automatically turned it self on! Injury waiting to happen! Thinking this would never happen again, we continued using the blender for all our smoothie needs. It made/makes great smoothies...if using fresh, unfrozen fruit.

Let's fast forward three months. The blender still turns on automatically. The poorly designed lid is getting on my nerves--one has to unscrew the lid to get it off. Also, this blender feels like it could fall apart any minute while in operation.

Although, I am still impressed with the easy clean glass container. But not enough to recommend this blender to family and friends.

If you want to talk about poor quality and poor ergonomics...this is your product.

Please save your money do not buy this blender. Black and decker should be ashamed of themselves to market such a product. Poorly made with plastic pieces that fell apart after a few uses.

I bought this for my father-in-law and it broke down after 5 uses. NO it is not cheap. You will have to pay hundreds of $'s to use this for one year. Provided you will have to buy a new one every week.

Had this for a while, seemed ok, then I tried to make a smoothie and found a rubber part of it in my smoothie. So much for that.

My friends received this blender as a wedding gift. It was used for the first time last weekend when I made frozen drinks with it at a party at their house. Immediately after I started using it, it had a hot plastic smell. We thought it was just because it had never been used before. However, halfway through making the frozen drinks the blender started smoking. So I turned it off only for it never to start again. Not to mention that when I first plugged the blender in it started running before I ever turned it on. Fortunately I didn't put the pitcher on to the base until after the ingredients had been added and the lid was on. Otherwise that would've been a real mess and would've only added to my guilt of breaking the blender.

So for the sake of your friends...spare them the future guilt of breaking your blender and buy a different brand!
