Perhaps my expectations of this product were a bit high. I had the luxury of comparing this product to the tradtional roller method in the same room. Did it save me time going back and forth to dip my roller in paint, yes, but any time I made up for painting, I certainly got back two fold in cleaning.

I was hoping for a nice even coat of paint on the walls, in less time. It is still a roller, so battery powered or tradtional you are still going to get the same coat on the wall, I believe the "even" coat comes from experience. I ended up using more paint with the battery powered roller, as well as wasting a lot of paint. After painting with a tradional roller and tray, I can easily pour the paint from the tray back into the can. This was a little tougher to do as most of the paint in the tube was lost (unless you want to add more time to your clean-up and squeeze the paint out of tube). At the point of clean-up and disassembling the item I had paint all over me and the tarp. Cleaning was time intensive and messy.

Overall I think it is a wash between the traditional roller and the battery powered roller. I guess it depends on where you want to spend more time...painting or cleaning. In the end I had the same amount of paint on me and I spent the same amount of time from start to finish.

Personally I rather spend more time painting and less time cleaning, but again that is my opinion.

This product works great and cuts painting time drastically, a room that would normally take about an hour took me around 15 minutes tops, and is a lot easier then having to bend and dip your roller over and over. the paint comes out evenly, and its size is very convenient and not to heavy to carry. I cannot say enough good things about this product and cant stress enough much time and effort its saves, but there is only one downside, cleanup. It is extremely messy, Paints gets everywhere so it needs to be done in a large space that can be washed, or outside. The product has to be completely taken apart which isn't that hard but there are a few tiny parts that are easy o lose. Aside from this it's a great product especially for the price, the amount of pros outweigh the cons hands down.

I used this to paint my living and family room one day. I went through 2 gallons of paint and did it almost nonstop. I will tell you that it was nice not refilling the tray and bending over repeatedly, but I question the time I really saved in the end after cleaning it (as others have stated). Also, managing the device and flipping the guard over to get into corners added some extra frustration. After the two rooms were done, I was dead tired and my arm hurt bad. It can be heavy carrying around a gallon of paint on your shoulder. Would I buy it again? Only if I had someone to trade off with to split the load. If you have alot of ground to cover and you have only one other person helping you, trade off every gallon and have one do the trimming and the other work the roller. Bottom line: good power roller for the price.
