drip free and super light,

This review is from: Black & Decker CG100 2-Speed Powered Caulk Gun (Tools & Home Improvement)
If you are used to the standard run-of-the-mill hand powered caulk guns you will really like how this Black and Decker tool prevents the oozing of caulk when you stop pulling the trigger. It works well for those times when you are trying to put down a smooth bead that doesn't need to be dressed-up with a wipe of the finger afterwards. The speed of the caulk flow is probably not ideal for those real big jobs, but for normal jobs around the house it sure beats the old metal frame manual guns even though the CG100 is nearly as light in weight.

Just finished a job that got bigger as I went on, ended up laying down a half mile of caulk. Had I known I would have gone pneumatic, but that's the way it is.
Purchasing this unit for what seemed to be a small job in a cramped space made sense, but as the job grew I wondered if it could hang. After a week of pushing it beyond its design limits I would recommend it wholeheatedly. It burns AA batteries, 4 at a time and seems to average maybe 8 to 10 tubes of 10 oz. caulk on a set. It's light and I had no fatigue as you might find in a typical rechargeable model. Changing tubes was pretty easy, once I remembered the orientation of the basket. I would recommend making a large dark mark for alignment, but you learn pretty quickly anyway and can tell by the threads in the barrel. Same with the batteries, the way the contacts in the handle are made, it's easy to see "+" and "-" The tube piercing wire attached to the basket started to pop off after a few days and gets harder pressed to stay put as the unit accumulates slag. If you have a job more than half a squirt but not big enough to justify hauling a compressor on-site, this is the model.

Too little power to handle polyurethane sealant,
This review is from: Black & Decker CG100 2-Speed Powered Caulk Gun (Tools & Home Improvement)
Due to its limited power (6 volts), it is excruciating slow in applying polyurethane sealant which is very viscous. Knowing what I know now, I would have purchased Pro-Quality 12 Volt Cordless Caulking Gun, a 12-volt cordless gun at comparable price.
