This is a nice juicer with a quality feel to it. Here is what I like about it, and where I see room for minor improvement:

Plastic parts/gears wore out in less than two bags of oranges juiced. Maybe okay if only used once or twice a year. Better off getting something else.

Edit: My son and I took it apart since it was on the way to the dump. It turns out the gears were okay and it was just a poor design for turning the unit on. Pressure down the stem pushes on a switch...

This is a nice juicer with a quality feel to it. Here is what I like about it, and where I see room for minor improvement:

The Good:
- Very easy to assemble, and more importantly very easy to clean. I just briefly rinse after use and then put the parts in the top dishwasher rack (minus the part housing the motor, of course).
- Operation is clean, i.e. no juice hits the counter top, everything goes inside the pitcher.
- I especially like the two cone sizes: The smaller one is for lemons and limes, the larger which goes on top of the smaller cone when needed, for grapefruits and oranges.
- The smaller cone (which is always in) also features two plastic "blades" (called stirrers in the manual) at the bottom edge which rotate with the cone and help that juice and, if so desired, pulp actually make it into the pitcher through the strainer openings. One of the pet peeves I always had about manual juicers was the fact that the strainer got clogged with pulp and seeds so that the juice sat on top and didn't flow through. Having these stirrers there moves pulp and seeds around so that the juice can get through and the openings don't get clogged. But see note below when processing a larger number of fruits...
- The reverse rotation feature is also useful in that I feel that more juice gets extraced from the fruit than if it would always just rotate in one direction. The fruit halves look really squeezed out.
- Pitcher has a good capacity (32 oz). Works just as well for several large fruits as it does when one only has one single lemon - not too big, not too small.

Don't Like So Much:
- The electrical cord is rather short, so one can't operate this too far away from an outlet.
- The auto-reverse sometimes kicks in and sometimes doesn't, and since there is no button to auto-reverse, it sometimes requires several tries.
- When squeezing a lemon on the max pulp setting, quite a few of the baby seeds also get through. Since I like as much pulp as I can get in my juices, this is either something I have to live with or I reduce the pulp setting to ensure that I don't have the little seeds floating in my juice.
- When squeezing larger fruits like oranges, a lot of the pulp tends to eventually collect on top of the strainer despite the stirrers (it just doesn't fit through the small strainer openings). So I end up having to periodically scoop it out when processing a larger number of fruits to avoid solid covering of the strainer.

Summary:
This is a useful appliance for normal household usage. I don't think, however, I would use it if I had large amounts of juice to make but for the occasional pitcher, this is perfect. At the price this is offered here, there is really nothing to think about: Get it and enjoy your lemonades or orange juices.

1.0 out of 5 stars No value, April 10, 2010

Plastic parts/gears wore out in less than two bags of oranges juiced. Maybe okay if only used once or twice a year. Better off getting something else.

Edit: My son and I took it apart since it was on the way to the dump. It turns out the gears were okay and it was just a poor design for turning the unit on. Pressure down the stem pushes on a switch turning on the small electric motor. There is too much play in the stem which requires increasing force to activate the motor. We came up with a simple fix...a small round head phillips screw (about #10) in the hole at the base of the stem takes up the slack and it seems to work consistently again. To open the unit remove 6 small phillips screws and 1 torx screw (you'll need a special small torx screwdriver). We'll see how long it lasts now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little citrus juicer, April 18, 2011
This review is from: Black & Decker CJ630 32-Ounce Electric Citrus Juicer (Kitchen)
If you've recently added raw juices to your diet, you're aware that most juicers don't handle citrus fruits, meaning you'll have to make a separate purchase if you want fresh orange juice, grapefruit juice, etc. This one was priced right, so I decided to give it a try. I've had it for several months, and I use it a few times a week, and so far it's holding up great.

Hi, I thought it would be worth a try, it only lasted a few days. Like the other guy said it needed a stronger motor. I think it would stop rotating sometimes, even thou the motor was still turning. Do the holes would get clogged up way to fast.... get a better one I bought one of them that throws the Reine out the back and am much happier with the more expensive one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Citrus junk, does not deserve the b&d name!, December 29, 2009
This review is from: Black & Decker CJ630 32-Ounce Electric Citrus Juicer (Kitchen)
This product was a waste of time, bought it for $15 shipped, and I shipped it right back. Its motor is very weak, no torque! If it had a better motor it would be a nice unit. Please avoid, and get something better, 30watt motor doesn't cut it, and it keeps counter rotating when you apply to much LIGHT pressure with your oranges.

3.0 out of 5 stars Does the Job, April 5, 2011
This review is from: Black & Decker CJ630 32-Ounce Electric Citrus Juicer (Kitchen)
I was in the market for a juicer, but didn't want to take up more space in our cabinets or counter. I didn't anticipate using the juicer a lot, maybe every few weeks. Now that I have access to Grandma's oranges on her orange tree, I will be using this every few days until there are no more oranges or I get tired of drinking fresh orange juice. Here are some pros and cons:

PROS:
*Compact size, doesn't take up too much space.
*Good price point.
*It does the job!
*Easy to dis/assemble and wash.
*Little "nubs" on the bottom that help hold the power cord wound around during storage.

CONS:
*Even on the "max pulp" setting, a lot of pulp from our oranges starts to accumulate after about 5 oranges.
*The plastic lid that goes on top of the juicer body does not stay in place. I think the lip inside the juicer container is too small. Any small touches on the lid makes it fall into the juice. (Totally annoying, IMO)

For a cheaper juicer, it filled my expectations, but I'm only juicing oranges (and lots of them) at this time. I haven't tried lemons or smaller fruit. "It does the job!"

2.0 out of 5 stars Freezes up, December 17, 2010
This review is from: Black & Decker CJ630 32-Ounce Electric Citrus Juicer (Kitchen)
I was looking for a good juicer without having to spend an arm and a leg for it. This one had some good reviews on here so I ordered it. As soon as it came I washed it and started using it. The first time it worked beautifully, then I tried to do another piece of fruit and it kept freezing up. It is great as far as convenience and ease of use and I like that it goes into a small pitcher. I packed it up and sent it back because of the freezing up problem. I think it probably needs a more powerful motor.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth bringing home, January 5, 2010
This review is from: Black & Decker CJ630 32-Ounce Electric Citrus Juicer (Kitchen)
The motor is too weak to juice effectively. The juicer stops rotating if you apply more than very light pressure to the fruit. I threw the unit away after a few attempts at making orange juice and lemonade. I never did manage to make juice with this machine and ended up using my old manual juicer.

Next time I will spend a bit more money on electronic juicer with an adequate motor.

For the price this juicer is great. Easy cleanup if you do it immediately. Easy to use although grapefruit are a little big for it. But I do use it for that too.

I got this for my husband for Christmas because he loves fresh squeezed juice. We are loving it so much and going through about 30 pounds of oranges a week, it's really easy to use.
