5.0 out of 5 stars OK Product
This is the second can opener I've had like this. The first has the plastic lever with the actual blade broke. This one does'nt have as powerful motor but works ok.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not happy with this can opener
It is extremely difficult to stick a can in this opener in the proper position to have the very small cutting blade actually cut through the can's lid. We were able to open the can on the first try maybe 1 out of 15 attempts. My P38-John Wayne C-Ration can opener that I got in the Marine Corps 45+ years ago, is only about 1 1/2" in length, has a larger cutting blade and...

My P38-John Wayne C-Ration can opener that I got in the Marine Corps 45+ years ago, is only about 1 1/2" in length, has a larger cutting blade and works better and faster. This Black & Decker can opener was a waste of money and is going into the trash. I'd rather be using one of the other hand powered can openers we've have.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality Can Opener, November 22, 2011
This review is from: Black & Decker CO1200 Grand Openings II Extra-Tall Electric Can Opener, White (Kitchen)
The first time I used this can opener, it would not open the can. I had to move the can to a couple different spots on the lid for it to finally grab hold and open it. Then, it dropped the can after it finally opened. I used it for about four months before deciding it was of a very poor quality, in my estimation. Before buying it, I did not consult with the Amazon reviews. Since then, I looked at the can opener reviews and purchased a West Bend can opener which is perfect! No comparison between the two different brands.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful Can Opener, February 7, 2011

This can opener is awful. It has NEVER worked properly. It's rare that it will actually open a can smoothly. In fact I don't know that it EVER has. The can slips off the blade and the paper around the can is shredded. I use a manual can opener most of the time. Time to just junk this one. It's not worth any amount of money because a manual can opener is better. This makes me warry of any Black and Decker product because it appears their quality control is non existant.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cutter is NOT dishwasher safe!, March 18, 2009

In two different spots this is stated in the description to have a dishwasher safe cutter. The manual clearly states NOTHING is dishwasher safe on this can opener. MANUAL HAND WASHING REQUIRED. I am returning it to Amazon.

1.0 out of 5 stars worked for a while, March 30, 2008
This review is from: Black & Decker CO1200 Grand Openings II Extra-Tall Electric Can Opener, White (Kitchen)
The can opener worked fine for about a year, then would not open cans without babying it and holding the can just right. I don't like to purchase can openers annually so I do not recommend this item.

1.0 out of 5 stars a piece of crap, January 22, 2012

In the year 2012, only the most dysfunctional company imaginable would put a can opener on the market that one has to struggle with to use. I would also give 0 stars if that was an option. People were making successful electric can openers at least a half century ago. There is really no excuse for this product.

I saw the one bad review this can opener had and was skeptical about buying it, but it was on-sale so I figured what the heck. I have not been disappointed. We use this thing daily for normal things, but for tall cans like tall dog food cans its a must!

If I could give this "0" stars, I would. I needed a can opener quick and bought this one from K-Mart. It was the only one they had. My husband and I both fuss at it everytime we have to use it. As soon as I can replace it, it will go in the trash.

I recently purchased the Black & Decker CO1200 electric can opener. I wanted white so it would match everything in my kitchen. It works great and gives a nice, clean look to my kitchen. Unlike the black, red and stainless appliances, the white makes the kitchen look clean and neat.
