Bought one of these saws for my Mom who is 70 years old so she could do some minor pruning of trees in here garden and yard...WOW she is now a saw hog. The weight was just right and did not tire her, what she calls flabby arms. As well as superior ease in handling she was also impressed with the durability of the battery after a full charge. It was a little more than I wanted to pay but the money I will save on trips to her house and electical tape from fixing cut through extension cords will more than be payed for. She liked it so much and I was impressed with her ability to use it, I'm getting one for the wife as well. Maybe now I can hit the links on a weekend.

A Straightforward Tool Does Its Job,
This review is from: Black & Decker CRS144B Firestorm 14.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Cutsaw (Tools & Home Improvement)
The title of my review pretty much says it all. Saw works, is reasonably comfortable, holds charge for a reasonable amount of time (though one wishes it would always be longer) and fits reasonably well in hand. Too new to tell about long-term reliability, but in our application - cutting dead trees up to 4", and trimming branches- this product works fine. And I might add, was really the only one I could find in this product category. Hence, recommended.

I got this to complement other Firestorm tools I had gotten as gifts. It works much better than I had expected and it comes in very handy to prune tree limbs and to cut up small logs. I also have the battery-operated chain saw for larger logs. My rationale for going with all Firestorm power tools is that I now have multiple batteries and multiple chargers so that I always have a fresh battery when one runs out. That way I am never without power. The included bag comes in handy for storing and carrying multiple tools at one time.
