THIS Black & Decker Works!, November 11, 2009
This review is from: Black & Decker CTO4550SD 6-Slice Digital CounterTop Convection Oven with Pizza Bump, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
I purchased this B&D from Target:
Black & Decker 6-Slice Countertop Convection Toast-R-Ovens
Read my review. It was an inferior product.
THIS one, on the other hand was very good. Door closed all the way. No guessing when my toast will be done. Stainless steel frame.
Digital readout is a bit dim, though. But has cooked toast, pizza, reheated things without a hitch. Have not tried BAKE function yet.
If it holds up longer than the other B&D (6 month life), it will be a winnner!
Update 6/14/11:
Unit still going strong. No issues.

Display needs rework, November 2, 2010
This review is from: Black & Decker CTO4550SD 6-Slice Digital CounterTop Convection Oven with Pizza Bump, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
This is a great product. We bought the next-earlier version of this for our own use over a year ago and were so impressed with it, we bought the present unit as a gift for our daughter. However, B&D needs to do some re-work on the control panel display. We are elderly people and it is nearly impossible for us to discern the greyscale time/temperature display in ambient light (There is ample industrial engineering information on how to design user-friendly displays). It needs to be a bright display. On the newer model that our daughter has, B&D have done away with the words for the pre-set buttons, using only tiny pictorial ideographs for the labels. Unless one has 20-20 eyesight and a magnifying glass, they are next to useless. Our daughter has 'memorized' the positions of the pre-sets since the images are impossibly small to read under normal lighting conditions. Discarding the word descriptions was an unwise move for B&D, even though they might argue that the images transcend language differences within their international marketing universe. Weak argument, as far as I am concerned, especially with their "microdot" graphics. Performance-wise, however, we love the unit and do much of our cooking with it, supplanting the microwave and full-size stove/oven in many cases. The user interface, however, could have been so much better if the company had really concentrated on it, and I would have given it an extra star had they done so.

Bad toaster, September 1, 2010
This review is from: Black & Decker CTO4550SD 6-Slice Digital CounterTop Convection Oven with Pizza Bump, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
After a few months, the top elements went bad; so no broiling. Also, it takes a long time to warm up.
