5.0 out of 5 stars THIS Black & Decker Works!
I purchased this B&D from Target:

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad toaster
After a few months, the top elements went bad; so no broiling. Also, it takes a long time to warm up.

THIS one, on the other hand was very good. Door closed all the way. No guessing when my toast will be done. Stainless steel frame.

Digital readout is a bit dim, though. But has cooked toast, pizza, reheated things without a hitch. Have not tried BAKE function yet.

If it holds up longer than the other B&D (6 month life), it will be a winnner!

Update 6/14/11:

Unit still going strong. No issues.

4.0 out of 5 stars Display needs rework, November 2, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Black & Decker CTO4550SD 6-Slice Digital CounterTop Convection Oven with Pizza Bump, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
This is a great product. We bought the next-earlier version of this for our own use over a year ago and were so impressed with it, we bought the present unit as a gift for our daughter. However, B&D needs to do some re-work on the control panel display. We are elderly people and it is nearly impossible for us to discern the greyscale time/temperature display in ambient light (There is ample industrial engineering information on how to design user-friendly displays). It needs to be a bright display. On the newer model that our daughter has, B&D have done away with the words for the pre-set buttons, using only tiny pictorial ideographs for the labels. Unless one has 20-20 eyesight and a magnifying glass, they are next to useless. Our daughter has 'memorized' the positions of the pre-sets since the images are impossibly small to read under normal lighting conditions. Discarding the word descriptions was an unwise move for B&D, even though they might argue that the images transcend language differences within their international marketing universe. Weak argument, as far as I am concerned, especially with their "microdot" graphics. Performance-wise, however, we love the unit and do much of our cooking with it, supplanting the microwave and full-size stove/oven in many cases. The user interface, however, could have been so much better if the company had really concentrated on it, and I would have given it an extra star had they done so.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very convenient, easy to use countertop oven, February 11, 2010

This review is from: Black & Decker CTO4550SD 6-Slice Digital CounterTop Convection Oven with Pizza Bump, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
I like the large capacity of this oven, the default settings so I don't need to program in times and temps for most things and the savings on gas since I don't have to use the large gas oven so often. The toaster oven does get very hot and some cheese from pizza dripped onto the lower burners (which are hard to clean) but I now use the pan that came with it instead of just setting food on the shelf. The convection feature bakes food faster but is not a necessary feature for me.

Shipping was a problem. The ad did not indicate no PO Box delivery. So when I got the notice from UPS, they rerouted it to my street address.

Was disappointed to see a sticker on the box that said - "clearance $49.99" when I paid $64.99.

Otherwise, the oven is working well. It's easy to use once you get used to all the buttons. But it is replacing another Black & Decker 6-slice toaster oven that came with a 9x13 pan. This oven is just slightly smaller so the pan will not fit. The pan that comes with the oven is much smaller and shallower. I used the old oven for almost everything including baking a cake and meatloaf. While it has a cake setting, it will only hold a small cake pan. I don't believe this oven will be as versatile as my old one. I'll need to cook smaller food or light off the stove.

This Black & Decker CTO4550SD 6-Slice Digital Counter Top Convection Oven with Pizza Bump has been is use for about a year. It was a gift to a young man in a Studio apt. so as to conserve valuable counter space. He has been able to make many frozen food products including 12-14" pizzas! He does report that it can get hot and needs plenty of space around it to provide adequate cooling. If it ever needs to be replaced we would purchase another of this same model or recommend to another person.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money., June 9, 2010
This review is from: Black & Decker CTO4550SD 6-Slice Digital CounterTop Convection Oven with Pizza Bump, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
I received this gift for Christmas 2009. In June 2010 the digital display stopped working and the unit stopped working completely. Took a veery long time to toast anything and was difficult to work. I would't reccommend this product. Thankyou to B & D they are replacing this product with another model.

2.0 out of 5 stars cooks uneven readout a joke, December 9, 2009
This review is from: Black & Decker CTO4550SD 6-Slice Digital CounterTop Convection Oven with Pizza Bump, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
You have to turn the pizza or it will burn in 1 spot. The readout is a joke and the on/off light makes it almost impossible to read
