5.0 out of 5 stars Black & Decker steam iron
When my more expensive Rowenta died, I purchased this Black and Decker Digital Smart Steam iron. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! It is lighter, steams better, and just runs circles around any other iron I have ever owned.
PS. If you are considering a Rowenta steam iron, save yourself the money and aggravation. They eventually begin to leak from the bottom. This also...

1.0 out of 5 stars Leaks
Have owned this iron for 6 months. Used less than 10 times. Leaking all over my clothes. Ugghh!

When I bought this there were more than 40 reviews, overwhelmingly positive.

Since this is the second disappointing iron I have bought on thru Amazon in 6 months, I am becoming increasingly suspect of Amazon reviews!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars SOLID iron for the money, December 16, 2009
This review is from: Black & Decker #D1500 DGTL Advantage Iron (Kitchen)
I iron shirts for an elegant gentleman. This particular iron performs well every time. It never leaks, the weight is right, the nose of the sole plate fits into tight spots around the french sleeve and helps me deliver a beautifully pressed shirt! I have used many different irons over time, and this modestly priced one, fits the bill and never disappoints.

This iron is great!! I do a lot of home sewing, and I need a very good iron to set in most of my designs. I love this iron. I have used a pro-express, and sharp. This iron far exceeds all I have tried. Good work Black & Decker..you got this one RIGHT!!

I just used this for the first time, and can't get it to stop beeping. B&D customer service told me to try again after having it turned off for 30 minutes. It didn't work. Now I have to try to get it returned . . .

which i liked but after about 3 years it started just shutting off every time i stood it up. i bought a cheaper model and it started doing the same thing after only 4-5 uses. so, i bought the digital one again. seems ok, but it spews steam which then leaks all over the ironing board where it sits, and soaks the ironing pad. i don't remember the earlier one doing that. also, the water level is hard to see due to the dark color of the window. i like it,i don't love it.. had a really old black and decker iron that i loved but it is no longer made and i left it with my daughter. may ask her to return it.. she doesn't iron anyway...

I had read about this Iron as a Best Buy on Consumer reports and my wife goes through Irons like some people do doirty underwear. From the $19.99 irons to the $99.99 Irons this is truly a nice Iron. Couldn't find it in any retail store and found it on Amazon. Completely satified with the product and the timely shipping. Good luck finding one but if you do I would buy 2. I may by a 2nd one myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, October 8, 2010

I was a converted Black and Decker iron user. Some years ago I was so disappointed in my Rowenta, I found a quality product in Black and Decker.
Unfortunately, their product does hold up to what they have produced in the past. I tried this iron and bought a Black and Decker iron from Macy's. I have
returned both.
This iron would give a large shot of steam out when you placed it on
the ironing board (verticle position).
Also, both Black and Deckers would leak water on my clothes. While trying to touch up my linen jacket, this iron leaked water all over the sleeve. Not good.

I am now the happy owner of a Shark iron.
