A convenient, high-capacity, high-quality electric kettle,

This kettle is exactly what I was looking for. It boils watermore quickly than our electric range (w/equivalent wattage), so it saves power. Auto shut-off after the water reaches boiling temperature (or if the kettle were to boil dry) means no fire hazard and no sprinting to the kitchen to remove a deafening whistling kettle. Looks great, fills and pours easily, and has a comfortable handle. Our water is rather hard, so the scale filter is appreciated.

Good Buy,

I've had this kettle for about a month and couldn't be happier. It boils water (I almost never boil more that an liter at a time) in about a minute. And, it looks great on the counter. The filter is a nice addition since I have to deal with NY tap water. The handle and bottom stay cool to the touch so you can sit it on any surface. Overall I can't see one problem with the kettle itself. I did get a nice little burn on my finger the second time I used it. But, you'll know not to touch the hot metal fast enough.

plastic inside,

The scale filter base is made of black plastic, which goes all the way to the bottom inside the kettle. My reason for choosing a more expensive stainless steel kettle was to avoid boiling water contact with the plastic. It is not possible to remove plastic parts from inside of this kettle, and I have to return it.
