You'll get a variable speed range from zero to 1,500 RPM, and it gives you complete power in both forward and reverse settings.

A keyless chuck makes for effortless bit changes, while a comfortable handle with soft grips helps to minimize user fatigue and help maintain a secure hold as you work. It also includes a bubble level that aids in accurate drilling and a single finger trigger for improved control. And you'll never have to interrupt projects to hunt for the bit you need: on-board storage makes sure you have everything you need at your fingertips.

Have owned this for about 3.5 months now for light projects around the house. It's pretty bare bones, but does the job well. I really appreciate the power from a corded drill after getting fed up with how weak my old cordless was. At this point, the toughest thing I've put it through was drilling two holes into brick -- it got hot but performed its task admirably. Otherwise, for drilling through wood, drywall, etc -- has worked fine without any issues.

Assuming that it's durable over the longer term, the only cons are:

1) It feels a bit "cheap" in the hand (but, what do you expect for $25?)

2) The chuck has some give in it (when you press the bit into the target, there is some initial give). Not sure if it was engineered this way on purpose, but was a little disconcerting at first. But, doesn't affect any outcomes.

3) The soft carrying case is fine (I actually prefer it over a hard case), but could have been made slightly larger as the drill has to be in a "V" shape in order for the zipper to zip. Another 1/2 inch of height would have done the job without being so snug. Strange choice. Oh well.

Overall: Price is great and I've been quite pleased with this purchase so far. Probably not the drill of choice for industrial use -- but works just fine for occasional projects around the house.

UPDATE: Have had this for a year now, still works great and still recommended.

I bought this drill to replace my older model B&D drill. The only reason I bought this drill was that Amazon had it on sale for $30. My old B&D drill just needed a part which was not available. In reality I do not like this drill much. The chuck assembly sucks. Most of the time when you are drilling the drill will get loose and you have to stop it and retighten it. I usually have to use a vice grip and adjustable pliers to get the drill tight enough to finish the job. The other problem is when you take your drill out, because it slips,it now has burrs on the smooth part to the point that it will not go back in it's holder without taking a file to it to remove the burrs. My advice is do not buy this drill. I don't know what happened to the old B&D (well I do) but I rather have a drill with a chuck that uses a key. Spend more money and get a good drill.

I am a woman homeowner who bought this drill thinking it would enable me to handle some basic tasks like hanging an Elfa closet system, hanging window shades, etc. I've had it a year now and am so fed up that I am hesitant even to give it away for free on Craigslist. Major problem, which I should have paid more attention to in prior customer reviews, is the loose chuck. Feel like drilling into some drywall? No problem? Any wood behind that drywall? Well, that's another story! I actually broke a bit off in a window frame today because the chuck came loose as soon as the bit hit wood. Unless you want to use this drill for tasks that you could do with a handheld screwdriver, move on and spend the money on something better. Cord gives plenty of power, but the chuck can't handle anything more than drywall.

Meaning that when the chuck gets hot, it melts parts of the plastic housing interior, which is used to hold the chuck gear assembly in place. Once the chuck gets hot & begins to melt the internal housing, you get a lot of play in the chuck, in all directions. So your thinking, what must have he been doing to get chuck so hot, right? That's just the point, I was doing nothing any reputable drill wouldn't handle. So, I guess this drill would be ok for very light, occasional use where you only plan on working with a few screws, but if you think this drill will hold up, removing 500 deck screws - It most certainly - WILL NOT. 5.2A sounds like a lot of power, and it is, but what good is a 5.2A motor, if the heat from the motor is too high for the housing containing said motor?

I bought this on sale for $19, so not a big loss, but in the end, I think your money would be better spent with a more quality product.

What can i say that is interesting about a Drill that works to spec. Nothing. But non-intersting I can say more. But whats the point ? It is orange so it is easy to see. It plugs in and works. It is variable speed. It is reversible. Just like practically every other drill motor on the market. Oh, it does fit in MY hand comfortably. Yours is another matter. I also received a Dewalt drill motor and it has more torque. but then again it is a $55.00 unit versus this. I got the Dewalt free 2 weeks after I bought this. Oh well. I will just pack it up and gift it for Xmas. Would I reccomend ? For the price it is worth it. If you need one for heavy duty 8 hour a day use, then no. You would need really strong arms and hands and a bigger drill motor. But as I drive a desk for a living I can safely say I will not need such a thing.

You probably found this review totaly worthless and just wasted 20 seconds of your life reading this.

This is the standard drill against which I measure all drills. This isn't the first I've bought - I buy them as gifts for people. It works well everytime I use it. It drills 1" holes in pressure treated wood and doesn't get too hot to handle. Its a reliable workhorse.
