I've been very pleased with this shrubber. I was skeptical after reading the reviews but after a few days I can truly say I've been pleased. My shrubs had become very overgrown, but this shrubber did the trick on them and cut them down to size in no time at all, even larger branches. I was expecting the battery charge to last me only a few bushes at a time, but it keeps going and going!! Yesterday I worked on a dozen shrubs for an hour and a half until I was tired out and the shrubber still had a little charge left! So I'm sold on this little dynamo!

I purchased this tool because I have quite a few small boxwoods that I need to trim. I thought a small shrubber like this would be great, especially since it is cordless. However, the slow cutting speed makes it inadequate for the job, and the battery makes it quite heavy, not ideal when you have more than a few shrubs to trim. I am using my manual hedge shears again.

Only buy this for very light work.

Seems nicely made and is easy to handle. However it's slow cutting speed and low power make it a tool only for cutting new soft growth. Even for that application I see it useful only for small jobs.

It handles easily and holds a charge for longer than I would want to use it. The small size is an asset. It would be a good addition to a tool set that included a powerful, full size trimmer.

I was worried that I'd be spending money on another useless item that doesn't deliver what it promises, but decided to take a chance. Turns out that it works just great on the things I bought it for, like trimming overgrown ivy and wisteria. Its probably just as well that the charge only lasts for about 30 minutes, because my hand felt pretty numb for several hours after using it. I only wish that it used the older type of modular 6" cylindrical battery that Black and Decker had in so many of their cordless items.

Years ago I owned one of these trimmers(& loved it), but the new models are a lot lighter. I'm a woman in my mid-50's & wanted something light & cordless. I can whip through a bush using only one hand. I wanted something that would do light trimming & would be quick & hassle free. This is it! No cord to mess with. Now, you lose something in these smaller, lighter trimmers. And that's a lot of power. It's NOT for heavy duty trimming. It is great for boxwoods & I even trim my forsythia bushes with it (although some of the branches are too thick for the trimmer to cut through). I've also used it on my rose bushes & it does a great job. For light trimming, I would definitely recommend this trimmer.

This shrubber is perfect for me. I didn't need anything too heavy duty and wasn't planning on cutting inch thick limbs or anything, so this is perfect. Lightweight and easy for me to manage. Would highly recommend to other ladies (or gentlemen) doing light shrub trimming.

Great product from B&D. Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Has plenty of power for most general shrub work. I also use it to trim off all dead flowers from my perennials for a second bloom, much faster than pinching them off. Have never had a problem with it running out of charge and liked it so much, I bought one for my dad for Father's day. Highly recommend.

I bought the B/D Cordless Shrubber early this season and have used it several times. It's easy to use, more convenient than the standard hedge clippers and does a good job on light duty tasks...i.e. new growth. Don't expect it to cut through mature branches. It's great for shapping small ornamentals.

Small and handy and works great. Hard to cut anything over 5mm.

My son bot a house w/ all of the contents. This was one of them. It still had a bit of a charge left, so my wife took it and tried it on our shrubs. She fell in love w/ it !! Only problem was, no charger. So I searched for a new charger, when I found one, on line, it was $20.00 + s+h ! I found a complete new unit on Amazon.com, for $34.99 shipped !!! Now we have 2 trimmers and a charger, for only $10.00 more than just the price of a charger. She absolutely loves it, and has a extra fully charged unit if she gets REALLY ambitious !
