I own a Black & Decker LE750 Edgehog. Mine is Green with a black handle. The blade shown in the picture is not the same one I received. The part number is the same (EB007) but the center hole cutout is not the same as depicted. I received a center round hole cut whereas the picture shows a polygonal type hole. That's the blade I really needed. Even if you eliminated the washer with the built in polygonal template you still ended up with a driveshaft with 2 sides flatten. As I mentioned the center hole in the blade is round. Still, even putting the supplied washers on both sides of the blade, the blade will eventually come loose the moment it makes contact with a stone or concrete. Now that I own 4 of them in order to get the free shipping I now have a lifetime of edger blades that I will constantly be tightening. If the picture is from an older model try updating your parts list. I should of gone to Sears.

I could be wrong but I suspect I have the same EDGE HOG edger as you guys. Just put the washer ON, then the BLADE, then the washer, and TIGHTEN.

I know that the blade would have a tendency to SLIP, but only if it encounters INCREDIBLE RESISTANCE - in which case you would WANT it to slip. I originally thought this was the wrong blade, but after thinking about it, I realized that it actually is a good design.

If you hit something that might bind up the blade, the motor will NOT burn up, but some slippage might occur. If that happens with me, I just remember to tighten the blade when I am done. Actually I tighten it before use ANYWAY - it is usually NOT LOOSE at all though.

It is an amazing edger, with CLEAN EDGES on sidewalks, etc.
For me the blades are working GREAT with the same edger you all have. I am not trying to be snotty or anything, just saying that even though it looks like the wrong blade when you first look at it, it funtions "safely" and does a great job.

They always tend to wear down, that is my only complaint, but that is minor. They are worth it.

Again, you might think by looking at it that there is NO WAY it would work since the hole is not the same, and you might think it would NOT SPIN or CUT (EDGE) anything, but it does work great.

If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them (here). If you suspect we have different edgers (I think not), I can post some photos of installing the blade on mine. Again, I am just trying to be helpful - not trying to start a "war". :-)

Good Luck,
Greg

5.0 out of 5 stars Just as pictured, August 25, 2005

They may have had problems in the past but Amazon is delivering the replacement blade the photo shows. It is hardened steel. I ordered the blade as a backup when I purchased my edger. At this point in time I still have the origional blade on it after 5 seasons of year long California use. (we don't get time off in the winter gardening season) This replacement blade is still sitting in the garage gathering dust.
I've got a hint for those other reviewers who seem to go through blades. All those sparks you are seeing demonstrate that you are not properly aligned. Take your time, don't rush, you'll get a quality job, save your blades and your hardscape.

5.0 out of 5 stars makes light edging a breeze, October 12, 2011

This review is from: Black & Decker EB-007 Edger Hog Heavy-Duty Edger Replacement Blade (Lawn & Patio)
I live in a typical suburban subdivision with an HOA agreement. So I've got to stay on top of my yard if I don't want a "nasty-gram" from the lady who drives around and makes sure that all the grass is mowed and the shutters are painted. The B&D Edgehog and the replacement blades are a breeze to use. I've got about 200ft or so of paved surface to edge and I do it every other week during the mowing season (which in this part of georgia is from march to october basically). I have only had the edger for about 7 weeks and used it 3 times. Each time it performed really well. I did a test run of taking off the blade and replacing it as if it was this replacement blade that I ordered (but don't yet need to install as the original is still plenty sharp). It goes on easily enough and the wear indicators will let you know when to change it.
All in all, a great replacement blade for a great product. I never thought I would buy an electric edger. I had resigned myself to buying a gas edger at a price of about $300. I though that there was no way an electric edger could do the job. In my case I was wrong. Obviously if you have a long driveway or some heavy-duty need, then this edger isn't for you, but It suits me perfectly. Good luck!

When I first started looking for a replacement blade for my Black & Decker Edgehog, I soon found it was easier said than done. I went ahead and ordered the replacement blade from Amazon, and I have been pleased. It works as well as ever.

Overall, not bad...You need to be carefull and not hit the concrete or blacktop too often or the life goes way down. I'm still using my first blade that I had when I bought this in February...

4.0 out of 5 stars Wrong blade?? Different holes --, August 16, 2004

I ended up having the same problem as the other reviewer had with the odd shaped shaft not fitting the round hole of the blade. Spoke with a salesman at a Black and Decker store and recommended using a screwdriver to knock off the piece that is odd shaped(takes a little time) but slides off fairly easily. Use the enclosed washers with the blade (one on each side) and it should work just fine without slipping... Good luck..

I'm very satisfied. My purchase arrived ahead of schedule, and installed very easily - 5 minutes. It wasn't keyed exactly the same, but if the blade is tight it works just fine - no problems!!

I can use this blade maybe two times on my yard, then needs to be replaced...not that it's bad, just that I have a lot of curb that needs edging! I will continue to buy!
