Positive - it runs very smooth and opens beautifully when it works, for maybe 9-12 months, just long enough to get past the warranty. Does open large cans easily, again, when it works. Negatives -must be more plastic gears, it works great but will not shut off even after can is removed. You have to unplug and wait. Very annoying when making a large pot of chili, etc., when there are 8-10 cans to be opened. Also, will not open, it NEVER did, small cans of tomato paste, I have to get out the crank opener. The small can just will not puncture and turn. Would NOT purchase again, would not recommend.

I made the mistake of purchasing a second black and decker can opener after I threw the first one in the garbage! The second one would not open a can either..... so guess where it is going!

This experience has made a believer out of me.... once fooled shame on you...twice fooled shame on me. Black and Decker will NEVER get another penny of my money.

If I could give this product a minus star I certainly would!

Cheap, cheap, cheap!!! The magnet won't stay on the opener and I end up with both it and the top INSIDE the can of food. Huh? Also won't stop running sometimes, even after the can is opened. Don't waste your money....

Even if was free, this POS isn't worth carrying home. Even on the simplest can, this thing takes hours to get it to puncture the lid and feed the can. Once started, it goes an inch or two and then drops the can. If you can get it to go the whole way around the can, its final insult is to drop the lid into the can. Worthless. Less than worthless--mine is in the trash after opening less than ten cans.

Got this piece of garbage at.....yeah, W/Mart. What with sixty percent of Amazon reviews at one star or less, what more can I say. Hats off to those lucky few who are able to give this item a '5'. It would cost me more in gas to return the thing. Put up with this mostly non-functional opener for maybe a week, then tossed it. Going with a Hamilton 76379 from Amazon the next time 'round. Folks seem to like that product much more. I hang alot of weight on customer reviews on this site. Hope the Hamilton rings true.

After two months, it started to fall apart. Finally bought a manual can opener. Much safer and easy to clean, can just toss it in the dishwasher. I can remember a time when Black & Decker tools, etc was something to be proud to own. Not anymore.

Was for a gift...they liked the can opener for the extra tall feature..sleek and modern..works like a functional can opener...

The worst thing for me about this can opener is that you can't sit the can directly under the lid and let the lid drip into the can because of the little lip that comes out at the bottom of the can opener.

This can opener worked maybe 10 times before it stopped opening cans well. Most of the time it is a fight to get a can open, holding it hard from the bottom, then it only opens part of it so I have to pry it open with a knife.
This machine is a piece of junk and not worth the money. Trash!!!
A -5 stars is what this can opener would get from me.

This is the most worthless piece of junk that I have ever bought.You may be able to open a bottle cap but you will not be able to open a can. A waste of time, effort and money. How have B&D been able to rip customers off with this is beyond me.
